Hello all,

In light of these unique circumstances, we have modified our regular e-blast to provide resources and information to our membership and community.

Most recently, the Federal Government has released its Economic Response Plan , which includes supports for small business, families, employees, and more.

Below, we have gathered some additional resources from our partners:
  • K. Brewer Financial Services about what's available to our members through the Chamber's Plan,
  • BDC for financing options related to the COVID-19, as well as
  • Pandemic Preparedness Toolkits from the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, and Ontario Chamber of Commerce.

We have had to pivot quickly as a Chamber: we postponed all upcoming events last week and came to the realization that our members will now, perhaps more than ever, need our support.

To this end, we have been using #BuyCloseBy and promoting key ways to support local small business on our social media channels. Please join in on the conversation online!

As owners and operators of small businesses, as community leaders, as heads of community organizations, we know you are currently facing unprecedented challenges and a ton of uncertainty.

We want you to know that we are here to support you.

To target our activities going forward, we are trying to wrap our heads around the local impact on our members.

My ask?

If you are so inclined at any time in the coming weeks, feel free to send me an email that describes how this has impacted your business (I am purposefully leaving this open-ended to get the most information possible).

We will continue to work with our many community partners to share the most up-to-date information and keep a pulse on our membership's needs during this time. We know that we are Stronger Together.

I will close by wishing you and your loved ones all the best,

Jennifer M. Locke
Executive Director
Haliburton Highlands Chamber of Commerce

P.S. To be socially responsible, I will be practicing social distancing with my daughter at home until further notice. As such, the best way to reach me is by e-mail or via the Chamber cell phone 705-854-0593.
