THE SEASON OF LENT

MARCH 5TH - APRIL 20TH

PRESENTED TO YOU BY THE

NORTH AND SOUTH GEORGIA BOARD OF LAITY

The Boards of Laity of the North and South Georgia Conferences of The United Methodist Church invite you to join in a daily devotional this Lenten season. They have invited United Methodist clergy and laity from across Georgia to contribute. This laity-led initiative encourages reflection, repentance, and spiritual renewal by slowing down and connecting with God’s Word. This season helps us to remember Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross and reflect on how His teachings guide us toward holiness. May these next 40 days bring deep transformation to our hearts!

(Day 3, Friday, March 7th, devotional was provided by Rev. Tillman. It was based on 1 Corinthians 13:5)

SUPPORT CENTRAL'S FOOD PANTRY

The Federal government has implemented significant budget cuts that have resonated across various essential programs, including those that support food pantries nationwide. This reduction has notably impacted Central's Food Pantry, which has seen a decrease in food supply from the Atlanta Food Bank. We invite our members to lend a helping hand by purchasing food items that will be distributed to those in need within our community. Together, we can ensure that no one goes hungry and that our pantry remains a light of hope and support. Below, you will find the guidelines for donating food to our pantry. Let's turn this challenge into an opportunity to make a difference!

The Food Pantry accepts non-perishables food item only. Food products should be in cans, plastic and paper containers. NO GLASS CONTAINER PLEASE!

The following products are always in demand:

Canned Meats/Soups

chicken, beef, pork, salmon, sardines, tuna, vienna sausage, etc.

Canned Vegetables

blackeye peas, corn, lima beans, green beans, etc.

Canned Fruit/ Dried Fruit

mixed fruits, peaches, apricots, etc.

Grits/ Oatmeal/ Rice, Raisins, Peanut Butter

Crackers/Cookies, Chips, Juice/Sodas - All kinds

Nuts

peanuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, pecans, etc.

FROZEN REFRIGERATED FOOD ITEMS REQUIRE APPROVAL FROM THE FOOD PANTRY COORDINATOR.

Bring your donations to the church office in the Ministry Building. If you have questions, please contact Malvin Trawick, Food Pantry Coordinator.
