Wings Has Supported 4 families so far in 2019...
Since the beginning of this year, Wings for Falmouth Families have supported four local families financially as they navigate a medical crisis or tragic event. Although laid-back summer days are before us, please know our Aid Committee is still accepting applications and meeting with families.
HEAR FROM A RECENT AID FAMILY:
It took me a minute to realize that [WFFF] was a real thing, that we might be able to get help through the worst of this and that we wouldn't have to sell our cars or move out of our home. I was amazed to learn about the kindness and generosity of the people who created this charitable organization for families going through a medical crisis. They (WFFF) were all very kind to myself and my family, patient and understanding. Thanks to Wings for Falmouth Families we were able to keep the utilities on and the mortgage paid. I am very happy to say that I am recovering well and was able to start a new job. I really do believe that the help we were given aided in that recovery. Not having the stress of wondering what we were going to do to get by allowed me to focus on what really mattered, the love and support of my family and to care for myself and ultimately get well. Thank you so much for what you provide our community, this was an amazing gift." - Recent Aid Family

"JUST WRITE IT" CLASS SPONSORSHIP
Ted Murphy's "Just Write It" Class began 24 summers ago in his converted garage, now known as The Writers' Shack. Every summer kids come to The Writers' Shack to learn some of the tricks that have helped T.M. Murphy become a published author. Ted has graciously sponsored a Wings family for 3 years in a row and is now welcoming a new child this summer!

We cannot thank Ted enough for supporting our families children in this meaningful way. If you are looking for a place for your child to be inspired and to have a place to find their dreams, then reach out to T.M. RECAP: 2019 WINGS ANNUAL MEETING
On Monday, June 10th, Wings for Falmouth Families hosted their Annual Meeting at President, Kristin Shearer's residence. We recapped the previous fiscal year, including a review of how many families we were able to help, the many events throughout town we were able to participate in, the success of our bi-annual Gala, the year end fiscal summary and more.

We also had a "changing of the guards" as 5 Directors completed their terms. We then welcomed 6 new Board members. We cannot thank Ruth Augusta, Mark LiCalsi, Anne Marie Dillon, Charlotte Humphrey and Nanette Davidson for all of the many years of hard work and dedication. Each one of you have left a legacy in this community and we cannot thank you enough.
RECAP: CLAY REALTY GROUP "SHRED-A-THON"
Thank you so much to Clay Realty Group for naming Wings for Falmouth Families as recipient of their 6th Annual "Shred-a-Thon" on May 11th. There was no charge for individuals to drop off their important documents to be shredded, but could donate to Wings. We're thrilled that over $230 was raised. Thank you so much Clay Realty Group...you all have done so much for this organization!

RECAP: 2019 ANNUAL WING-A-THON
On Saturday, March 30th, over 65 people got together at Flynnie’s Bar 3 in Falmouth to support local family and previous Wings for Falmouth Families Board of Director, Jessica Culley-Kozens in her fight against Breast Cancer.

Attendees were given numerous opportunities to show their support by either buying raffle tickets for a 50/50 raffle, basket items, a live auction, general donations and of course, the Wing Eating Contest!

We couldn’t be more appreciative of the support that was shown for the Culley-Kozen family. We were blown away with how generous everyone was and so was the family. It’s times like these when we see our community truly coming together to help one another.

A special thank you to Flynnie's for all their support: flynniesbar3.com
RECAP: WEDDING EXPO
On March 10th, one of our favorite venues, The Flying Bridge hosted their annual Bridal Expo. This year Wings was gratefully named the beneficiary of the event's 50/50 raffle. We are very thankful for their continued support!

We highly recommend considering The Flying Bridge for your next event. The expansive views of Falmouth Harbor, excellent food and spectacular service will make your event truly memorable.
RECAP: THE COOPERATIVE BANK OF CAPE COD, Employee Jeans Day
This winter the employees of The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod had the opportunity to support a local charity while taking a more casual dress code on Fridays. For a small donation, employees could choose to wear jeans during their workday. And thanks to a generous employer match, those many small donations were effectively doubled!

Wings is very grateful to be one of the beneficiaries of this program! And of course, we are humbled by the (ahem) sacrifice these employees made to support local charities! : )
RECAP: NORTH FALMOUTH ELEMENTARY "SPIRIT DAY"
Thank you so much to the  North Falmouth Elementary PTO  for selecting  Wings  to be the recipient of their February "Spirit Day!" Once a month students bring in $1 to support a local non-profit and wear maroon and white that day. On Tuesday, February 5th, over $230 was collected from students which will go directly to helping local families who are experiencing a medical crisis or tragedy.
RECAP: FALMOUTH GIRL SCOUTS "POCKET CHANGE FOR OUR COMMUNITY"
We are so appreciative of the Falmouth Girl Scouts Service Unit 359 for selecting  Wings as their recipient for the Annual "Pocket Change for Our Community" station at their World Thinking Day March 23rd!

A total of 18 troops from Falmouth and Mashpee participated in this event and collected change weeks prior to the event. A total of $452 was collected, $226 being donated to Wings (and the other towards  Heroes in Transition )!

Thank you so much for supporting the mission of Wings for Falmouth Families! We're so proud to see the next generation caring for their community members/families.
