2019-2020 Parish Theme:
Live by the Spirit, Walk by the Spirit
Mid-trimester Grades
With our grades live 24/7 on PowerSchool, parents can access their child's grades at any point during the trimester. Holy Cross Academy joins many schools in our Diocese in being green and not printing mid-trimester report cards. Now is a great time to check in on your child's progress if you have not monitored it for a while.

If you are having difficulty logging into PowerSchool please contact Mrs. Burke who can assist you. She can be contacted at bburke@holycrossweb.com .
Chocolate Fundraiser Buy Out
We will be able to accept chocolate buy out checks Tuesday morning until 8:30 a.m. to give anyone the chance to opt out of selling chocolates.

Scrip Newsletter
Do you need some help getting started with Scrip? Here is a great Scrip tip from the Great Lakes Scrip Company!

Scrip tip #1 - Use scrip retailers for all of your expenses. By budgeting first, you can see how much money you have to spend in each different category. Then choose your favorite scrip retailer for every category. When you use scrip for gas, groceries, clothes, prescriptions, and other everyday shopping, your rebates really start to add up. Not only are you sticking to the budget, you're also earning for your organization!

Scrip is an easy way to help support the school. We raised close to $10,000 last year and need your help to raise even more this year. Look on-line at the list of retailers that can be ordered. While you are there, set up an account on www.shopwithscrip.com and order your cards on-line. No coming to the Scrip table. Orders can be sent home through a child’s folder or picked up in the office. You can even pay on-line with PrestoPay. Use our school code, 7B876EBB188L2, to set up an account today!
Please direct questions to the Scrip Coordinator at scripcoordinator@holycrossweb.com .
Super Science Sunday at Saint John Paul the Great
HCA middle school students are invited to Super Science Sunday at Saint John Paul the Great High School on Saturday, October 19th from 9:00 a.m. until noon.

There will be hands on biology, physics, and biology labs for the students to experience.

Follow the link below for more information and to register.

ORANGE OUT Dress Down Day
October 31 will be a specially themed dress down day at HCA. Students are encouraged ( but not required ) to wear orange that day. Attire for the day will still follow our dress down day guidelines.

With it being Halloween Day, students may were Halloween themed accessories (headband, bracelet, hair ties) for the day.

Who We Will Help with This Event
The Brisben Center is our region's homeless shelter. They provide at-risk and homeless men, women and children essential temporary shelter and services to affect positive life changes. In 2018 alone, they served 590 men, women and children. The center is in need of new towels and wash cloths for their residents. They can use them while in residence and keep them when they move on to a more permanent home.

We are asking each family to donate a towel, pair of washcloths, or $2 or more donation to the Brisben Center to earn the dress down day for your child(ren).
Substitute School Nurse
We're looking for a substitute nurse to fill in when our nurse isn't able to be here. The need is minimal, probably just a few days per school year, but we need someone who is registered and able to administer students' medications when needed. Please let us know if you are interested in being on call for those rare occasions when Mrs. Richardson is out.

Contact Mrs. Tomayko atomayko@holycrossweb.com to volunteer or with with any questions you have.
