This picture day is only for Individual and Class Photos.

Picture Re-Take Day will be Nov 9 
This is for group photos (scouts/cubs, school clubs', etc) and the 4th grade level group. It is also for anyone who  missed, or is not satisfied with the pictures taken on Sept 26. 
PTA MEMBERSHIP FORMS - STILL HOPING FOR MOREPTAForms 
Thank you to everyone who has sent in their PTA forms for membership.  
 
We are hoping for more.  The challenges of budget cuts to education are daunting.  Our membership fee and fundraisers support school programs, building improvements, and educational events.  
 
As a result of our commitment to contribute to enriching education and well-being for our kids, we were honored as a National PTA School of Excellence.  Middle Gate was 1 of 5 schools in CT to receive this honor.  We are so fortunate to have amazing administrators who support our efforts and I encourage you to do the same.

These hot days call for a Popsicle party!! Be the class in each grade with the most memberships and the Popsicles are on us!
Each member also gets a MG DIRECTORY!!! We'd LOVE to have all memberships in by end of September!! Thank you!

Please join us at the 1st General PTA Meeting

Free Childcare is provided! While we meet in the cafeteria, the kids will be painting their own unique rocks in the art room to add color and beauty to our courtyard. (please dress appropriately)

- You can be the first to hear about important news and upcoming events at school
- You can learn about possible volunteer opportunities

2:30-3:00PM - Costume Parade
3:00-4:30PM - Trunk or Treat!

We need LOTS of cars to fill the parking lot.  If you decorate your trunk for us, you will get free admission!!  Also Mens Club is sponsoring a hay ride for this event! (flyer attached)

- WE NEED CANDY DONATIONS.  The PTA will be supplying some of this candy but we are needing everyone to pitch in to make this event a success. There will be a bin clearly marked in the office for candy donations.

Please join us for a ghoulish good time - a costume parade, prizes for best costume, best decorated car, games and more! Spots are limited.

- Enter a decorated car and get FREE admission!
- Just in it for Trunk or Treat? Wristbands are $5 (Kids 12 and under)

Candy Bag Donations are welcome and appreciated

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR - OCT 24 - OCT  26BookFair

Save a date for our fall book fair:
Each class will have a turn to shop the fair during school, times are to be announced. 

Families are welcome to come and shop the fair as well.  Volunteers to help set up, check out and take down are always needed.

Save those box tops and hand them in! it's like money for our school!
  
In 2015-2016 we raised $1,228.80
Last year - 2016-2017 we raised $1,250.50
 
Let's see if we can keep increasing our amount!
(and for those competitive people - some other schools in Newtown have only raised in the $500's and $600's for the last 2 years - we have raised almost twice as much!)

How to submit something for the Middle Gate Minute:

Do you want to advertise a MG event or program or are you looking for volunteers for a MG event or program? Then send us your information for submission in the Middle Gate Minute. The Middle Gate Minute is a Bi-Weekly publication. Please include a 1-3 sentence description and contact information for all submissions. If you want to attach a flyer or other document, it is best to send as .doc or .pdf

MG Weekly editor reserves the right to edit all submissions. All submissions due the Thursday before the next newsletter publication date.
