Congratulations to the following Grade 8 students whose poems were accepted for publication in the national poetry anthology. Poetic Power is a nationally adjudicated contest, and fewer than half the poems entered are accepted each year for publication. We are proud of these students and their talent and commitment to writing.

RADIO CONSERVATORY - TUNE IN

Hello Friends of Falcon Radio 100.9 FM.

We fly to the last week of school, a little weary, but The Lord will keep us flying.

Last week our Head of School Mr. Ben Davis gave students news about future VCS plans. Thank you Mr. Davis.

Our last positive newscasts goes live this week. There are now Middle Schoolers who are learning the control room console for live broadcasts. This puts them on a fast track to become Certified Radio Operators by the FCC.

Our newscasts now include more VCS news and Vacaville news. Our students now receive recognition for their accomplishments and the Vacaville Community receives news concerning local events.

This Fall we hope to have more local church news, VCS Sports, and live programs.

Finally, I have been selected as a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow to visit Washington, D.C. to study FDR's Disability Legacy. President Roosevelt was able to overcome his disability in part through his skillful use of radio. I hope to gain more knowledge that I can share with our VCS students. I thank VCS faculty member Danille Black for making me aware of this opportunity.

We look forward to the Fall and what The Lord has in store for KVCB 100.9 FM.

Grace and Peace,

Dr. Gary Dreibelbis
