Teachers, teaching assistants, and principals were so happy to see your child on Monday when everyone met on the blacktop area between the Middle School and CTE buildings. Students were also excited to see each other in person after about 1 and a half years of distance learning. School staff took time to greet the classes including giving time to adjust the transition from distance learning to in-person instruction with the new Middle School schedule.
School Picture Day took place on Thursday, and everyone looked great. If your child missed, there will be a make-up date later in September-October.
We are getting the school year off to a great start. During the first few weeks of school, we follow Responsive Classroom which is an evidence-based approach that brings together social and academic learning throughout the school day. We look forward to getting to know your child.

Los maestros, asistentes de maestros y directores estaban muy felices de ver a su hijo el lunes cuando todos se reunieron en el área asfaltada entre los edificios de la escuela secundaria y CTE. Dear Students and Families,
It is with excitement that I write this letter of introduction as the new Principal of Middle School, and I will be working with Ryan Souza closely. I would like to thank all that Rory Osbrink and Ryan Souza have done amid the pandemic with instruction.
We look forward to another great school year!

Power Outage: We experienced an unexpected power outage in the Middle School building on Thursday and Friday. We had another one on Monday to replace a part of the breaker. Students stayed calm during those times.

PowerSchool: You can check your child’s class schedule in PowerSchool. The school website has instructions in ASL, English and Spanish if needed. The app for smartphones does not always work.

Please notify the school at once if your child has tested positive for COVID-19 or has close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Middle School has implemented clear expectations for school staff and students to follow health and safety protocols when inside the Middle School building. These visuals are posted in the hallways and classrooms: always wearing masks, hand sanitizers to wash hands before entering and leaving classrooms; sit in assigned seats and wipes to disinfect the area.

At-Home Rapid Testing Kits

The testing kits are sent home as your child is encouraged to take the test on Mondays and Thursdays prior to coming to school.

Feeling Ill During School Hours

It is normal for anyone to feel ill during school hours. Now with the pandemic, the school has a strict procedure when sending the student to the Student Health Unit (SHU as known as school infirmary).
Non-COVID symptoms: Such as cramps, abrasions, broken bones, etc., we will schedule an appointment first and bring the student to the SHU at the appointment time.
COVID symptoms: The student will be isolated from others at once.
The student with consent for testing will do the BinaxNOW testing.
If negative results, we will bring the student to the SHU at the appointment time.
If positive results, the student will be kept isolated until SHU is ready to bring the student to their isolation room to do the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test. The student will wait to be picked up.
The student with no consent will be kept isolated until we contact the family to sign for consent. You can sign in at https://my.primary.health/l/csdfremont. If you prefer not to, you must arrange to take your child home at once.

Es normal que cualquier persona se sienta mal durante el horario escolar. Ahora con la pandemia, la escuela tiene un procedimiento estricto al enviar al estudiante a la Unidad de Salud Estudiantil (SHU, conocida como enfermería escolar).
