Dear Middle School Families,
Ski Club registration will occur in the middle school office on Tuesday, November 3, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Please do not arrive before 7:00 a.m. To sign up, your student must bring a $100 check, made payable to Columbus Academy, to cover bus fees. We can accommodate the first 52 students. Slots typically fill up on the first morning; however, once the spots are filled, a waitlist will be started and will remain open through Thursday, November 5.
What is Ski Club?
Ski Club is an activity open to all middle-schoolers. On five Fridays, Ski Club students will travel together by bus to Snow Trails in Mansfield. Our 2027 Ski Club dates are January 8, January 15, January 22, January 29 and February 5.
Students will depart from Columbus Academy’s athletic entrance at 3:45 p.m. and return at 10:00 p.m. At least one faculty member and 2-3 other parent or faculty volunteers will accompany our students.
No prior experience is necessary as group lessons are available for beginners. Students may bring their own equipment or rent it from Snow Trails.
How does my child sign up?
On Tuesday, November 3, please send your child with a $100 check (made payable to Columbus Academy) directly to Lori Robison-Embry in the middle school office. That deposit will cover the cost of transportation to the mountain. We can accommodate the first 52 students who register. If there is any additional interest, we will create a wait list. Please note it is the student’s responsibility to wait in line for registration. Parents, guardians or another adult are not permitted to wait in line in the Middle School for their child to participate in Ski Club.
The Ski Club coordinator, Kristin Alexander (Grayson ’29, Brooks ’32), will then contact families on Monday, November 9, to provide more information about the Ski Club season.
In the meantime, feel free to reach out to Kristin at kristin.g.alexander@gmail.com or 614-542-7949 with any questions.
Warm regards,
Shaka Arnold
