Header COVID19 Update
Arenas and Community Centres to Reopen Jan. 31
After being closed in response to public health measures to curb the spread of the omicron variant of COVID-19, arenas and community centres are reopening Jan. 31.

  • The capacity at the Ilderton Arena, Komoka Wellness Centre and community centres will be capped at 50% at this time.


  • No outside food or drink will be permitted, nor will any food or drink be available for purchase. The only exception is closed bottle drinks for those on the ice participating in skating / hockey.

  • Proof of vaccination, wearing masks/face coverings and other COVID-19 safety protocols remain in place.

  • Note that you will need to show your Enhanced QR Code Vaccine Certificate (paper or electronic version) and your identification for entry into municipal arenas and community centres.

MLPS COVID-19 Vaccination Pop-Up Clinic in Coldstream Feb. 1
The Middlesex-London Paramedic Service is offering mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinics across Middlesex County this winter, including a stop at the Coldstream Community Centre on Tuesday, Feb. 1. from 11 am to 6:30 pm. No appointment is necessary. Please bring your health card or other form of identification.

$2.06 million investment for local roads

Middlesex Centre is receiving a $2.06 million investment from Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF) in 2022. The bulk of the money will be put towards resurfacing local roads this year, with some funds held in reserve for projects in 2023.

2022 Municipal Budget
The approved 2022 Middlesex Centre Budget is now available on the municipal website.

ECommerce & epost Systems Ending 
If you receive your municipal water or tax bills using either the epost or ECommerce systems note both will be discontinued later this year. Please contact the office to make arrangements to receive your bills by mail or email, or to sign-up for pre-authorized payments.

Free Skates - Saturdays in February

Join us for free public skating on Saturdays in February at the Komoka Wellness Centre, sponsored by the Komoka-Kilworth Optimist Club and Dairy Lane Systems. Skating runs 1:00 to 1:50 pm. All participants must wear skates and a CSA approved helmet.

Tobogganing Hills at Middlesex Centre Parks
Middlesex Centre parks offer opportunities to get outside and enjoy the winter weather, from hiking and snowshoeing to tobogganing!

Weather permitting, tobogganing hills can be found at:

  • Caverhill Park, Komoka
  • Deerhaven Optimist Park, Ilderton
  • Delaware Lions Park
  • Douglas B. Weldon Park, Arva
  • Westbrook Park, Komoka

Make sure you stay safe when sledding – check the hill conditions, wear a helmet and make sure all children are supervised.

Stormwater Management Ponds: Stay off the Ice

Even if they look frozen, stormwater management ponds are not safe for winter activities like ice skating, hockey and sledding. The water going into the ponds may contain salt and other contaminants that can make the ice unstable and dangerous.

"Speak to Me" - Mental Health Conversations with Michael Landsberg
The County of Middlesex is teaming up with the Sick Not Weak Foundation to welcome TSN’s Michael Landsberg for conversations about mental health.

“Speak To Me: 3 Words Every Teen Needs To Hear and Every Parent Needs To Say!" is a free, two-night virtual event.

Registration is required:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022 @ 4 pm for High School Students - Register 
  • Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022 @ 7 pm for Parents/Guardians - Register

This event is hosted by the County of Middlesex.

Reducing the Risk of Barn Fires
People, animals and property are in danger when fire breaks out on the farm. Inspect your barn and outbuildings for fire hazards and have an up-to-date fire safety plan to reduce the risk of a tragic loss.

Reminder - Get your Dog Tags

All dogs living in Middlesex Centre must have a valid tag. Tags are issued for the lifetime of your dog at no charge to you. (Replacement tags are $10 each.) Apply for your dog tags on-line or by contacting the office.

Winter Parking Reminder

Please remember there is no parking on municipal roads between 2:00 am and 7:00 am from Labour Day to Victoria Day. This is particularly important in the winter to allow for snow clearing!

Snow Plow Damage to Sod and Mailboxes

It can be difficult for plow operators to find the edge of the sidewalk or the road during snow storms or under a blanket of snow. Occasionally mailboxes or sod are damaged by the plow.

If your mailbox suffers a direct hit by a plow, contact the office to report the damage. The municipality will repair or replace a damaged mailbox. Note Middlesex Centre does not cover damage due to snow load from the plow.

Similarly, if your sod is damaged by a plow, please contact the office. Municipal staff will repair the damage in the spring.
