QUALITY AND ANALYTICS CO-LEAD AND ADVISORY GROUP MEMBERS WANTED

We are looking for an individual with quality improvement, evaluation, and analytics experience to be the Co-Lead for our Quality and Analytics Advisory Group. We are seeking an in-kind resource from a partner organization for this role.


The MLOHT Quality & Analytics Advisory Group is working to develop and implement an evaluation strategy to ensure we are appropriately measuring the advancement of our purpose.

HEALTH CONNECT ONTARIO IS NOW HEALTH811

Knowing where to turn for health information can be confusing. To support Ontarians in their journey to access the right care at the right time, Health811 is here to help.

Previously known as Health Connect Ontario, which replaced Telehealth Ontario, Health811 is a free, secure and confidential service Ontarians can call 1-866-797-0007 or access online 24 hours a day, seven days a week to receive health advice from qualified health professionals, such as registered nurses, locate local health services and find trusted health information.

PROVINCIAL GRANT EXPANDS TO TRAIN MORE HEALTH CARE WORKERS

A grant program designed to attract and retain health care workers in underserved communities is expanding. The Learn and Stay Grant was originally intended for nursing students only, but last month, the province announced it was expanding to including paramedic and medical laboratory technologist programs. Eligible students will receive full, upfront funding for tuition and books.

SUPPORTING CAREGIVER AWARENESS, LEARNING AND EMPOWERMENT (SCALE) PROGRAM

The SCALE Program aims to empower caregivers with practical information and skills to focus on their mental health and well-being needs by offering:


Weekly psychoeducational webinars (LIVE or RECORDED)

Strategies, tools, and resources to better cope with difficult caregiving emotions.

Free and confidential online group and/or individual counselling


Registration is based on a first-come, first-served basis.

LET'S CELEBRATE

  • Brian Orr and Scott Courtice have been selected as the co-chairs of our Governance Subcommittee
  • Congestive Heart Failure Quality Based Procedures (CHF QBP) Integrated model of care was launched Dec 31st​ to better connect care across hospital and community-based settings.

NEW SURGICAL OPTIONS TO REDUCE WAIT TIMES

The province is expanding the number of surgeries performed at community surgical and diagnostic centres to reduce wait times. Surgeries done at these centres will be publicly funded and the province will require the new facilities to provide detailed staff plans to protect health human resources in hospitals. 


Procedures will include cataract surgeries, MRI and CT Scans, ophthalmic surgeries and minimally invasive gynecological surgeries.

THE INSTITUTE FOR BETTER HEALTH IS SEEKING CARE PROVIDERS FROM OHTs

“Person-Centred Segmentation,” is a study being conducted by researchers at the Institute for Better Health to understand how to better identify the diversity of healthcare needs for frail individuals to inform Population Health Management.


It is currently looking for patients/caregivers and health care providers to be part of virtual focus groups.
