CELEBRATING NATIONAL INDIGENOUS HISTORY MONTH - SPOTLIGHT ON ERIC HENDRICK, INDIGENOUS HEALTH LEAD

Eric Hendrick, from Moose Deer Point First Nation, has been a vital part of the Middlesex London and Elgin OHTs for almost two years. Eric shared that the reason he started in this role was because he wanted to be able to give back to First Nations people. For many years, he watched his family struggle with health, addictions, and the lack of basic life essentials. “This role was my chance to make change and be change for the younger generations,” he added.

Among his proudest achievements are securing ministry funding to develop localized Indigenous Cultural Safety (ICS) training and creating the "Deep Dive Into Truth and Reconciliation" series, which highlights Indigenous women in leadership. Eric is particularly excited about the upcoming season of the "Deep Dive Into Truth and Reconciliation" series, featuring guest speaker Alizabeth George Antone. He is also looking forward to building the ICS training team. Keep an eye out for upcoming job postings!
