Online Appointment Booking


Booking appointments keep getting easier for patients! Ontario Health has approved funding to support 195 Online Appointment Booking licenses for primary care partners for FY25/26.  

  1. 153 existing users will get funding to support ongoing use
  2. 42 net new users will receive funding for the first time

SCOPE



SCOPE now has 207 primary care providers registered, and since its launch in June 2024 has managed 366 calls and completed 267 imaging studies. Notably, only 6% of patients required an ED visit within a week of their exam, underscoring the program’s impact on improving timely access to care.



In August 2025, SCOPE partnered with One Vascular to expand urgent access to arm and leg DVT ultrasounds, which can now be ordered directly through the program.


Eligible urgent imaging tests through SCOPE include:

Ontario Health West: New Unsolicited Proposal Process

Ontario Health West has launched a new process to review proposals consistently and transparently. Please use the Unsolicited Proposal Intake Form, as all previous forms have been retired. Ontario Health West: Virtual Urgent Care Appointments for Children and Adults available through Urgent Care Ontario

Virtual Urgent Care (VUC) appointments are available seven days a week for children and adults with urgent, non-life-threatening medical issues through Urgent Care Ontario. Virtual services are available to people living in southwestern Ontario, from Waterloo to Windsor and Tobermory to Niagara Falls. COVaxON Decommissioning

Ontario’s COVaxON system will be decommissioned in March 2026, with immunization records consolidated into Panorama. No action is required now; further details on transition and training will be shared in the coming weeks.

Improving Access to Vaccines and Interpretation Services


Thanks to Public Health Agency of Canada’s (PHAC) support, we are still offering free access to On-Demand, Virtual, Interpretation Services at Primary Care Clinics. This free virtual interpretation service can be used for any type of appointment, as long as the topic of vaccines is included in the discussion.

Canada Post Service Disruption: Cancer Screening Updates

Due to the Canada Post service disruption, cancer screening letters (ColonCancerCheck, Cervical, Breast) may be delayed. If you’re due for screening, contact your primary care provider or OBSP site directly. Completed FIT kits should be dropped off at a specimen collection centre instead of mailing. iHEAL Program for Women

The Middlesex-London Health Unit is now accepting referrals for iHEAL, a free program that supports women impacted by intimate partner violence.


Women work with a registered nurse to focus on health, safety, and connecting with community supports. Learn more.

Respiratory Virus Immunization Updates Webinar


PHAC and NCCID will host a webinar on October 7 (11:30 a.m.–1 p.m.) with updates on RSV, seasonal influenza, and avian influenza. Presenters will share NACI guidance on available vaccines and resources. The webinar will be recorded and posted online. Register here.

Ontario Workers Network (OWN) Clinic at LHSC


Are you seeing WSIB patients with spine or lower extremity musculoskeletal injuries who struggle with pain, psychosocial or progress issues? LHSC’s OWN clinic supports recovery of injured workers referred by the WSIB. Patients gain timely access to surgical and specialist consultations, plus functional integrated treatment with onsite care and community partnerships, ensuring coordinated, high-quality recovery pathways. New Report: Health & Homelessness System Response

The first formal assessment of London’s Health & Homelessness Whole of Community System Response highlights progress, challenges, and lessons learned in addressing homelessness. Findings show the impact of highly supportive housing, 24/7 hubs, and dedicated frontline staff, while underscoring the need for sustained investment and workforce support.

Accessible Halloween Village


Wright Rehab is excited to announce the second annual Accessible Halloween Village, scheduled for Saturday, October 25 between 1-3 p.m. at The Shops on Sydenham in Strathroy. 


This unique event creates a safe, fun, and inclusive Halloween experience for children and families who face barriers, physical or otherwise, with traditional trick-or-treating. Inspired by the national Treat Accessibly movement, the goal is to ensure that every child and young person in the community can enjoy the magic of Halloween.

Provincial Priorities for 2SLGBTQIA+ Health Equity


Ontario Health has partnered with Wisdom2Action (W2A) and Health Commons Solutions Lab/Sinai Health to inform provincial priorities for 2SLGBTQIA+ health equity.


W2A will be hosting a virtual discussion group in early October to receive feedback from clinicians, health service providers, and researchers on a plan to understand the strengths and/or gaps and to develop recommendations for these priorities.

Warden for a Day Contest

Self-Management Programs Network

An online directory of self-management workshops in southwestern Ontario is now available. The Self Management Programs Network website lists upcoming self-management workshops in our area for patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers.  

 

These workshops share skills that can help you manage your health condition and make your life better. They also teach you how to support someone you care about with their health condition. Examples of workshops include "Living a Health Life with Chronic Pain” and “Powerful Tools for Caregivers”. 

 

Programs are also available for Healthcare Providers that promote working in partnership with patients and caregivers to achieve better health outcomes.


Each program is free and available for anyone 18 years and older in southwestern Ontario. Check out the full list of available programs at selfmanagementprograms.ca
