Middlesex London Primary Care Network seeks Executive Council

The Middlesex London Primary Care Network (MLPCN) is looking for up to eleven voting member positions on its Executive Council for the 2026–2028 term. The council provides strategic leadership for primary care across Middlesex London, supports collaborative governance, and acts as a voice for the local primary care community.

Bone Mineral Density scanning now available at LHSC

Thanks to a donation from the Children’s Health Foundation, London Health Sciences Centre now offers Bone Mineral Density scanning using a new Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA). 

Please note that for comparing results, BMD scans should be completed on the same machine. Bookings are made by a referring physician. Referral forms are available on the Requests for Imaging | LHSC page.

Ontario Lung Screening Program helping high-risk patients

The Ontario Lung Screening Program is Ontario’s organized screening program for people at high risk of getting lung cancer, helping find lung cancer early, when treatment has a better chance of working.

OLSP provides a low-dose CT scan for eligible high-risk individuals. South West Regional Cancer Program’s OLSP went live at LHSC April 1, 2025 and will soon be expanding to four other sites in the region.

London Electronic Notification Service ends March 31

A reminder that the London Electronic Notification Service (LeNS) will be retired on Mar. 31 and, as a result, all LeNS accounts closed on that date. As an alternative, physicians are encouraged to enable eNotifications through OntarioMD’s Health Report Manager (HRM). This provincial solution is the preferred approach for physicians using an office EMR.

If you are not yet enrolled in HRM and operate an office EMR, we encourage you to email OntarioMD or call 1-866-744-8668. On average, it takes four to six weeks to set up HRM, depending on how quickly the agreement is signed and when the EMR vendor enables access.

New EMR shortcut for HealthPathways members

Primary care providers can now access HealthPathways more quickly with a new shortcut feature available for both PS Suite and Accuro EMRs.

This simple update enables one‑click access to pathways during patient encounters, supporting smoother workflow and timely clinical decision-making. For instructions to add the shortcut in both systems, click here.

Ontario Health updates its KidneyWise Toolkit

Ontario Health (Ontario Renal Network) has updated its KidneyWise Toolkit, which supports primary care providers in identifying, detecting, and managing patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), and making appropriate referrals to nephrology.

This updated version reflects current best practices and recent advances in CKD screening and management.
