Middletown has secured grants, received donations, and committed investments to improve the parks in the community. Some of the most significant improvements are taking place at the Community Park and Firefighters' Park.

For the Community Park, the Township received a grant of $250,000 from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and a $353,000 grant from the Bucks County Open Space Program. These grants, paired with private donations and the Township's contribution, will transform the park, creating new and improved features. One of the first projects will be to build a new skate park, replacing the one that was destroyed during Hurricane Sandy. The new 8,000 foot structure was designed by a local company, 5th Pocket Skateparks, and it will provide a great recreational outlet for youth in the community. New playground feature will include an improved surface, an interactive electronic activity wall programmed with sports challenges, and a seating area. The Township will also install new senior fitness equipment near the entrance that will offer social exercise for residents. Lastly, the park will see new walking paths that connect to nearby neighborhoods as well as Core Creek Park. In total, Community Park will receive nearly $1 million in upgrades between 2019 and 2020.
