Paving the Way: 12th Year of Road Improvements Begins

Middletown Township’s Road Improvement Program is a plan to repave more than 100 miles of Township-owned roads. Well-maintained roads reduce safety hazards and help prevent costly vehicle damage. Keeping the paving schedule on track is crucial—delays can lead to worsening conditions and higher repair costs down the line.

The Township is now entering the twelfth year of this program, recently approved by the Board of Supervisors. Repaving is scheduled to take place between July and September.

Each year, Middletown Township solicits bids from contractors to complete repaving work. This competitive process ensures the Township gets the best pricing while avoiding additional overhead costs like equipment purchases or hiring seasonal staff.

Roads scheduled for paving this summer (all or in part) include:

  • North Flowers Mill Road
  • Big Oak Road (from Township Line Road to a point approximately 1,400 feet west)
  • Alternate: Erica Drive (may be included depending on bid results)

In addition, PennDOT is actively repaving state-owned roads throughout the region.

Please use caution and follow all posted signage while crews are working. Construction is expected to be completed by the fall.

Drainage Work to Precede Paving on North Flowers Mill Road

Before repaving work can begin on North Flowers Mill Road, a drainage improvement project will be completed to ensure the long-term integrity of the new road surface. This drainage work is scheduled to begin in late spring, and it is an essential first step in preparing the road for paving.

Middletown Township will continue to provide updates as the project progresses. Please follow posted signage and use caution when traveling through the area.
