Road Construction Ahead sign with numerous barricades
The 2019 Road Improvement Program has been announced! With approval from the Board of Supervisors, the Township will now seek bids to complete the construction. Below are the roads and neighborhoods that can expect to be repaved this year.
  • Wheeler Way
  • Wheeler Court
  • Cabot Boulevard
  • Summit Trace Road
  • Sunny Hill
  • Core Creek Estates
  • Banks Road
  • Silver Lake Road
Additionally, drainage improvements will be added to Silver Lake Road.

Also included this year are several sidewalks and bike paths in the area around the Community Park. Detailed in the December 2018 eNews, the Township received a grant that will help drastically improve the walkability of the park. Sidewalks will connect the Laurel Oaks neighborhood with the new Oakview Estates, and walkways and bike paths will connect Maple Point Middle School to both the Community Park and Core Creek Park.
The Township expects to award the contract in the spring, and construction will follow in the summer.

Emergency Management Disaster Training

The Office of Fire and Emergency Management announced it will partner with SEPTA as well as local fire companies and the rescue squad on a regional rail exercise to help prepare emergency services in the community for a disaster. First responders will get familiar with buses and rail cars, learn how they work, and walk through how to rescue passengers in the event of an emergency.
