Halloweenfest - The City of Midland, Parks & Recreation Division will be hosting the 5th Annual Halloweenfest on Thursday, October 26. Enjoy face painting, movies, jumpers, music, and
costume Zumba. 

Fiddlesticks FarmsCelebrate the 10th season of Fiddlesticks Farms with over 15 acres of corn maze trails to explore and 10 acres of pumpkins to pick! Enjoy 25+ attractions for visitors of all sizes and ages. Dates and times vary September 30 - November 16.

The BIG SHOW - Luau inspired evening featuring a traditional roasted kahlua pig dinner, Hawaiian cocktails, live music, Polynesian performers, and a diving show featuring Olympic divers, Polynesian drummers, and COM team divers. 

Family Science Night - Spooky Science Spectacular  -  The Petroleum Museum invites you to spend your Halloween participating at the museum in hands-on science experiments  and activities.

West Texas Oil and Gas Convention - Join Roseland Oil & Gas Marketing and Events for the 2017 West Texas Oil and Gas Convention and Golf Tournament October 16-18. Entrance to the convention is FREE and includes lunch daily.

Valor Farm Eagles & Aces Challenge - Join the Bush Tennis Center for a weekend of tennis, golf, and Texas Country music benefiting first responders. 

Texas High School Region 2 Rodeo - Don't miss the Texas High School Region 2 Rodeo October 7-8 at the Midland County Horseshoe Arena. This is the toughest rodeo for high school students from Texas and New Mexico.

Texas Hotel & Lodging Association Speaks at Midland Hotel Partner Meeting

VisitMidland was pleased to welcome representatives of the Texas Hotel and Lodging Association to the Midland Hotel Partner Meeting that took place on August 10. The presentation included legislative updates on topics pertaining to the hotel and lodging industry. 

Midland Retailers Named's Best of 2017 List revealed their 2017 Best Stores List, and 10 Midland retailers made the cut.

Professional Development

VisitMidland's Stephanie Martin, Daisy Bowers, Manuel Luna and Lyndsey White attended the 2017 Texas Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus Annual Conference in Ft. Worth. The team attended educational sessions on marketing destinations, tourism sales, visitor services, and more throughout the week and brought back lots of new ideas and strategies to Midland.

This month, we are featuring VisitMidland Director, Stephanie Martin. S tephanie Martin has been with the Midland Chamber of Commerce since 2008 and joined the  VisitMidland  team in January 2014. Stephanie received her Certified Tourism Executive designation through the Texas Travel Industry Association's Travel & Tourism College after completing the three year program. Sports have always been a big part of her life beginning with her commitment as an elite gymnast. After competing, she coached gymnastics for 5 years before transitioning to the Chamber world. Her unique blend of experience and determination adds value to all programs and events of  VisitMidland . Since making Midland her home in 2008 she has served as the Leadership Midland Cook-Off & Car Show Chair, Midland County Fair Steering Committee, Star Spangled Salute Committee, H-E-B Feast of Sharing Volunteer, Leadership Midland Facilitator, Midland Soccer Association Coach, Parks and Recreation Commissioner, and is the past Chair for Senior Corps Advisory Council.
