Midlands Gives 2025

Raising Funds for Valley of Hope Church of Pain de Suc

Dear friends,

Midlands Gives Day, an incredible 18-hour online giving challenge hosted by the Central Carolina Community Foundation, is less than one month away (May 6th)!

This year, we are focusing our efforts on supporting the Valley of Hope Church of Pain de Suc.

The Church of Pain de Suc is a sister church to the Valley of Hope Church of Chacha. These churches, along with the Valley and Doco Churches, are under the leadership of Pastor Maxeau and the Valley of Hope Ministries.  

This church, led by Pastor Dieunel Charles, serves a community grappling with the current challenges of life in Haiti- political instability, gang violence, food insecurity, and a health crisis.

The Church of Pain de Suc, the building itself damaged in the 2010 earthquake, has become an important resource for families forced to return to the area, seeking refuge from the violence in the busier towns and cities.

Now, with no access to formal education, six church members are volunteering their time to teach the children of these families, without receiving compensation. 

Our Midlands Gives goal is to raise $20,000 to support the Valley of Hope Church of Pain de Suc.

• A stipend to the six teachers.
• Daily meals to 150 students at the school.
