Dear Members & Friends,

In a game of word association, when prompted with the word February, a likely response is love.  February is truly the month of love, as celebrated by Valentine's Day. During this month in
particular, we often remember and acknowledge loved ones, family members, dear friends, even pets.  Perhaps, we find a small gift or plan a special outing in an effort to show appreciation for our loved ones.  And, while these relationships with family, friends, and loved ones are important to our health and happiness, there is another relationship worthy of our respect, acknowledgement, and appreciation.  This particular relationship is often overlooked or neglected; it is the one we ignore in order to take care of  others.  The relationship to which I refer is the one we have with ourselves.  As Buddha said, "You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection."  During the month of February, let's resolve to love and be gentle with ourselves.  Let's treat ourselves with patience and loving kindness.  And let's remember, the more we love ourselves, the more love we have to share with others.  I believe one easy way we can show love and affection to ourselves is by staying committed to our physical exercise routines.  So, as the inspiration of the new year begins to wane, and our hectic daily lives distract us, let's agree to stay committed to regular physical exercise as a way to show love for ourselves.

With health & happiness,

Melissa O'Toole

TENNIS

Adult Tennis Program
Starting February 1, 2016, we are happy to announce several changes to the adult tennis program to better serve your needs.

First, to assure an appropriate allotment of court space and proper student to teacher ratio, we are now asking participants to call the Front Desk to sign up. (Last minute drop-ins will only be accepted at the instructor's discretion and if space is available.)

Next, to provide you better clarity in deciding upon which clinic to sign up for and bring you level appropriate instruction, the description of the clinics will be done according to the USTA NTRP rating system.(If you are interested in participating in a clinic outside of your NTRP rating, it will be at the instructor's discretion.)

Lastly, this gives you the opportunities for additional instruction and play time with some of the clinics being extend to 1.5 hours. Please click HERE for the schedule of Adult Tennis Clinics for Winter 2016.

The Tennis Department has decided to make these changes after listening to your concerns and we hope that we can now better serve all of you. If you have any questions regarding the changes to the Adult Tennis Program, please feel free to contact Sonny Kierulf or Thomas White.
