Dear Friends and Art Collectors,
After spending some wonderful time on Cape Cod and New Hampshire seeing old friends, eating tons of seafood, and just staring at the ocean, I’ve been told this is actually "midsummer"; but for me summer is just summer, no matter that some of the crafty stores already have pumpkin stuff in them. Ugh. (Stop rushing the seasons, people.)
Even though I promised myself I would take things a bit slower upon returning home, my calendar still has lots of notations on it, BUT I am ok with not checking off everything on my to-do list. So right now, this is what’s going on—
I’m working on what will be the last restaurant painting for the RESTAURANT+Art Project for a while. (There’s talk about extending it into 2023, but we will see.)
There is a reception planned at Art in Bloom Gallery (Mayfaire), September 19, 2022 celebrating all the restaurants, and I am truly looking forward to seeing the paintings all hanging together. Many of them have been sold already with the understanding that they will hang in this show before heading to their new homes. Grateful to say the least, for being asked to be the ART part of the project, and to the restaurant owners and chefs that let me invade their kitchens.
I’m excited to announce I’ve been chosen an Associate Artist for UNISON Pastels. I am proud to be a brand ambassador for these fine pastels, and be sure to look for my first blog for them very soon.
I’m also thrilled to be returning to NYC for the PSA 50th Annual Exhibition “Enduring Brilliance” with one of my pieces. I so look forward to seeing artist friends I haven’t seen in a long while.
In the meantime I’m experimenting with new ideas, new mediums, and loosening up even more…. Let’s see where this new attitude takes my painting!
