U.S. Midterm Elections Alert
The U.S. midterm elections have never been more important. Election day is Nov. 6, but you must be registered to vote by Oct. 12.  For more information -- including how to find your voting location and how to request an absentee ballot -- click here. Local 802's latest endorsements can be found here.

ALSO: The Board of Elections is hiring poll workers for the November election. Click here for more info, or send an e-mail here.
On Oct. 2, the NYC Office of Nightlife embarks on a five-borough listening tour. All New Yorkers are invited to raise issues, voice concerns and share ideas. This is an important opportunity for musicians to share our concerns and experiences as nightlife workers to influence the decisions this office will make. For the complete schedule -- and to RSVP now -- click here.

If you're passionate about diversity and inclusion, come join the newly-formed Diversity Committee. Chaired by Local 802 member  Steven Cuevas (an outspoken diversity and inclusion activist), the committee aims to create and foster a diverse and inclusive environment where no voices are silenced -- and all of us can thrive. Musicians of all backgrounds have the potential to disrupt and transform entrenched practices and thinking. If you're interested in this empowerment mission and want to be added to our list, click here to contact Marlena Fitzpatrick, staff liaison of the Diversity Committee. A meeting will be scheduled in early October.
