Missions

May: STARS Human Trafficking Awareness & Support

Our mission for May is STARS, a survivor-based organization in Toledo dedicated to supporting young women who have experienced or are at risk

for sex-trafficking.

STARS offers crisis prevention-intervention programs with compassionate case management. Their goal is to restore hope, cultivate purpose, and encourage self-worth in neglected and trafficked girls. Regretfully, Toledo is the number four recruiting spot in the US for underage exploitation; there are over

300,000 youths trafficked each year in the US and more at risk. The vital services provided by STARS are needed now more than ever before, as even small towns are impacted by this evil.

WUMC is privileged to support this organization with both our prayers and our financial gifts.
