June 9 Special Meeting Results

A special meeting of the Congregation was held on Sunday June 9. The meeting was called by the Congregation Council to request support for a multi-faceted Financial Strategy for SAKLC. After nearly 2 hours of healthy information exchange and sharing our varied perspectives, the members approved the following recommendations as proposed in Exhibit A of the meeting announcement:

- Create a Church Capital Fund dedicated to the Capital needs of SAKLC facilities

- Re-establish the Stewardship Committee which has been paused since the start of Covid

- Initiate a Joint Legacy Giving Campaign with the SAKLC Foundation

- Authorize the Sale of 25 N Washington via a Property Sale Task Force

Many thanks to all those who did the planning and analysis to create the strategic financial recommendations and to all those who thoughtfully and prayerfully participated in the special meeting. With congregation approval, implementation of this strategic plan begins. Information about next steps for these initiatives will be provided over the coming weeks. But this we know; it will require significant participation by the full congregation in many ways. If you have thoughts on how we can best move forward as a congregation, we invite your thoughts and participation.

CSM Resurrection House Cooking

With a lot of our volunteers gone for the season we are in need of help with Resurrection House Cooking on Thursday, June 27, July 25 & August 22 at 9:00am. If you are available then please consider helping out for a great cause. We would also like to thank those that helped in May. We were delighted to see new faces and really appreciated the extra hands! Contact the church office with any questions.

Alternative Worship Task Force Update

"Let's Have a Conversation" Sessions

The Alternative Worship Task Force is almost half-way through its scheduled timeline. We are now in the phase of gathering information and feedback needed to complete our work. The “Conversations” with our members have started and will conclude next week.  The last session is Sunday, June 23 after the 10:00 a.m. service.  If you have not signed up to participate, simply click on the link below to enroll. These 1-hour sessions consist of a guided discussion where we pose 5 questions for your consideration. The Task Force will take your feedback, along with the research we have conducted, and create a proposal to bring to the Council in August. The goal of this Task Force is to develop recommendations for an alternative worship service outside our regular Sunday morning services. We look forward to hearing from you.
