June 9 Special Meeting Results
A special meeting of the Congregation was held on Sunday June 9. The meeting was called by the Congregation Council to request support for a multi-faceted Financial Strategy for SAKLC. After nearly 2 hours of healthy information exchange and sharing our varied perspectives, the members approved the following recommendations as proposed in Exhibit A of the meeting announcement:
- Create a Church Capital Fund dedicated to the Capital needs of SAKLC facilities
- Re-establish the Stewardship Committee which has been paused since the start of Covid
- Initiate a Joint Legacy Giving Campaign with the SAKLC Foundation
- Authorize the Sale of 25 N Washington via a Property Sale Task Force
Many thanks to all those who did the planning and analysis to create the strategic financial recommendations and to all those who thoughtfully and prayerfully participated in the special meeting. With congregation approval, implementation of this strategic plan begins. Information about next steps for these initiatives will be provided over the coming weeks. But this we know; it will require significant participation by the full congregation in many ways. If you have thoughts on how we can best move forward as a congregation, we invite your thoughts and participation.
