CELEBRATING OUR '25-'26 KOH SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS!
We are thrilled to announce that, due to the extraordinary generosity of Kwang and Kook-Wha Koh, South Lyon First United Methodist Church has awarded more than $20,000 in scholarships for the 2025–2026 school year to six exceptional students pursuing degrees in science and related fields. Their commitment to education and the future of young scholars continues to be a powerful example of love in action.
This year’s recipients of the Kwang and Kook-Wha Koh Science Scholarships are:
Jack Harvey – After completing a year at Oakland Community College, Jack is transferring to East Tennessee State University to study Geography and Geographic Information Systems.
Morgan Lecrone – Morgan is a senior at Rochester Institute of Technology in New York and is one semester away from graduating with a degree in Film and Animation with a concentration in 3D Animation.
Ella Penndorf – Ella enters her third year at Trine University, majoring in Forensic Science, Biology, and Chemistry, with a goal of working for the government as a forensic scientist.
Ada Ray – A student at the University of Michigan, Ada is on a pre-med biology track and aspires to become an obstetrician-gynecologist specializing in fetal-maternal medicine.
Isabella (Bella) Ries – Bella is studying math and science at Saint Petersburg College in Florida, aiming for a career in marine biology and conservation research.
Owen Simot – A recent graduate of South Lyon High School, Owen will begin studying Computer Science this fall at Kettering University in Flint.
