Solicitation Love: Lent Devotions
“Casablanca.” “Sleepless in Seattle.” “An Affair to Remember.” “Titanic.”
“Romeo and Juliette.” “Me Before You.” “Jane Eyre.” “The Notebook.”
We’ve all seen and read unforgettable love stories. But we’ve lived and witnessed them, too.
As part of our 2021 Lenten theme, Love Your Neighbor, we’re compiling a devotional booklet of love stories from our congregation -- stories in which you were the giver, the recipient, or the witness. We need yours.
Please put them to paper, in 300-500 words. All of our love stories will be shared with the congregation as we remember the greatest example of love in history, when Jesus took the sins of the world upon himself and gave his life for the love of humankind.
Please submit them as a Word document to Joanna Firestone. The deadline is Feb. 7.
We’re also looking for submissions from our children, asking them to write a poem or short story, or perhaps color a picture that illustrates how we can show God’s love to others. Children’s submissions should be sent to Kendi Holcomb-Densmore electronically, or they can be left in the box outside of the front doors.
If you and/or your children plan to participate with a submission, please let Joanna or Kendi know now, so they can be watching for them.
