As we actually just had the official start to summer this week (even though the hot temperatures have been baking us for several weeks now) but before we know it, school will be starting again at all of our area schools. I want to invite our church family to prayerfully consider once again “adopting students in need of a hand up” to help make the 2022-2023 school year a great year for learning for ALL children in our community!
What does “adopting a student” entail? This year, we are buying school supplies in bulk and filling each backpack with the grade appropriate supplies for each individual child. If you would like to help with this outreach ministry, we welcome monetary gifts. You can donate online at kfumc.org (go to Giving / School Supplies) or you can mail donations to Kerrville First United Methodist Church at 321 Thompson Dr. Please put school supplies in the memo on your check. Any amount will be impactful. We will make sure the children get their new backpacks full of supplies before the start of school in August. What an incredible gift to a child!
Please join us in praying for all of the children in our community. Pray for them to have a wonderful year, full of positive learning experiences. Pray for their teachers. Pray for their family. Continue to pray for them throughout the school year. This is the most important and impactful gift that you can give. Thank you so much for making a difference in the life of a child!
