Thank you for your generous donation of 218.5lbs of food this past Sunday! (This included some items left over from the Thanksgiving bags.)

Throughout the month of November, we’ll be collecting nonperishable food items each Sunday to support the Salem Roanoke County Food Pantry. 

Please bring your donations and place them in the basket located in the narthex. Be sure to check expiration dates before donating. For a list of weekly needs, visit the Food Pantry’s Facebook page. Thank you for helping us share God’s love and provide for our neighbors in need this season!

Guild II will be sponsoring a coat drive for Mrs. Dorsey’s Clothes Closet from November 30th thru January 4th. Infants, children, teen, adult…all size coats are needed. Light, medium, and heavy jackets or coats, as well as rain jackets or coats…all are needed.

A box will be placed on the stage for new or gently worn coats. The coats will be delivered to the clothes closet when they reopen in January from the move to their new location on Apperson Drive. Thank you in advance for helping.

On Sunday, December 7th, the Second Sunday of Advent, several of St. Paul’s

parishioners will display personal nativity sets.

Visions of the Nativity will be between services and during coffee hour in the Parish Hall. Come see the story of the birth of Jesus, as depicted by various cultures and in a range of sizes and construction media.

Gift drop-off will be on Sunday, November 30, and December 7. You may also drop your gift off in the Church Office. The last day to bring gifts will be Wednesday, December 10. Thank you for making Christmas brighter for children in our community.

The food pack went well Saturday with nine committee members packing the food for our Carver and East Salem Elementary families. Thank you again for your amazing and generous response to that food drive. Each of the 12 families received a generously packed bag and a $50 Kroger gift card.

Do you knit, crochet, or needlepoint? We are exploring the possibility of starting a group for interested needleworkers to provide fellowship, instruction, and assistance with current projects and service (i.e. prayers shawls, NICU blankets, chemo caps, etc.). Meetings would be held weekly for 2 hours on a drop-in and stay as long as you’d like basis.

No commitment to attend every week needed.

Thank you to those who have already turned in their 2026 pledge. We have gotten off to a great start. If you have not done so, please prayerfully consider how much you will pledge for the upcoming year.

The Finance Committee and Vestry are developing our 2026 ministry budget and the income for this budget is based largely on pledges. We greatly appreciate all financial gifts and contributions; however, pledges are especially important. Thank you for your generosity!

The Rector’s Bible Study meets on Tuesdays at 12:30pm in the Market Street Classroom. This midweek offering is intended for anyone desiring to learn more about the Bible and how it relates to our daily lives. We will continue our study of the Gospel According to Luke beginning this week with chapter 16. You may bring your own Bible or borrow one from St. Paul’s.

Deacon Bernie Jones is teaching an interesting class on Sundays using the book by Robert Prichard, A History of the Episcopal Church. The class meets in the Market Street Classroom following the 10:00 am service through December 7. Get some refreshments at Coffee Hour and head on down to the class! All are welcome.

Lectionary Group

The Lectionary Group has begun reading and discussing the 2008 edition of, The Promise of Paradox, by Parker J. Palmer. All are welcome and invited to attend. The group meets every Thursday from 10:00 - 11:30am in the Corinthians Room.

The Diocese is offering Safe Church, Safe Communities training via Zoom on January 20, 2026 from 6:30 p.m.- 9:30 p.m. for those that need a certification or refresher.

Clergy, lay leaders, staff, and volunteers should all be up to date with their safe church certifications for safety reasons and to be in line with diocesan policies.

The registration link is included below. If you plan to attend, registration is required to receive your unique Zoom link. 

You must attend the entire 3 hour session in order to receive certification and the certification is good for 3 years.

Nursery Attendant



The Nursery Attendant will work every Sunday from 9:30am – 11:30am. Attendant must complete the Safe Church, Safe Communities training. This is a paid position.
