Some Interesting Facts About America’s Prayer Life
According to a 2014 survey conducted by the Pew Research Center, for many Americans, every day is a day of prayer.
·
More than half (55%) of Americans say they pray every day
·
21% say they pray weekly or monthly and 23% say they seldom or never pray
·
Among those who are religiously unaffiliated, 20% say they pray daily
·
54% of women pray everyday
·
46% of men pray every day
·
65% of Americans age 65 and older pray daily
·
41% of Americans under the age of 30 pray daily
Statistics are interesting, but the most important statistic is “how often do I pray?”
Prayer is a wonderful gift from the Lord, allowing us access to Him at any time. Make use of this gift. Speak to the Lord in prayer each day and open His Word to listen to Him speak to you.
Peace,
~ Pastor Raasch

PRAYING FOR YOURSELF
Reflect on what is on your heart and mind and take it to God in prayer.
Is there something we can pray about for you?
|
|
- Dick Larsen, Jack Norman, Jim Ruppel, and Jean Button who go through a time of recovery. Pray for healing and strength for their bodies.
- All who battle cancer, including Judy Wiechert, Gary Bergin, Kathy Schmidt, Brad Sachse and Pastor Joel Brandt. Pray that the Lord would bless their treatments, provide relief, and strengthen faith.
- Carol Viesselman, Herm Scholz and Bill Jaeger as they contend with health issues. Ask the Lord to grant healing and strength for the body and peace and joy for the soul.
- Those who mourn the passing of a loved one including the family of Gerry Hubbard. Pray for the peace of God that comes only through a faith in the Lord Jesus, the Victor over sin, death, grave and hell.

PRAYING FOR FIL MINISTRIES & OTHERS
Pray for our March “Mission of the Month,”
People of the Book Lutheran Outreach (POBLO).
POBLO works currently with immigrant and refugee populations in ten states, sharing the Gospel with all, many of whom are Muslims. We have three Centers in Wisconsin, pray for success for their ministry.
Pray for our
Lenten Midweek services,
that many people would come and be blessed by the words of Jesus, and turn their hearts to him in worship.

“And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever.” Isaiah 32:17 Stephen Ministers have one care receiver at a time. They meet with that person in a private, one-to-one confidential setting for about an hour a week and may also touch base on the phone or email in between those times. To underscore one of the key points of Stephen Ministry, it is confidential. The only people who know the identity of the care receiver are the care receiver, the Stephen Minister, and the pastor or Stephen Minister who linked the two together. Nobody else knows, not even other Stephen Leaders or Stephen Ministers. In this way, care receivers can feel assured that anything they tell their Stephen Ministers will remain confidential. To find out if this ministry might be appropriate for you or someone you know, contact Pastor Reichmann at 377-6610. A care receiver need not be a member of First Immanuel or River of Life.

Take Something On For Lent This Year Rev. Paul Kelm put together a resource to guide our devotional lives and has graciously made them available to our congregation. Designed for one devotion a week, Paul leads us through some words of Jesus: to the calloused, to the curious, and the committed. Take some time this Lent, and spend time with Jesus by focusing on WHAT HE SAID. These resources are available at both worship locations, and will also be studied during our 9:00 Bible study at First Immanuel. You can also find them for personal use at
www.filministries.org/what-he-said/
