Midweek
Update & Prayer

January 10, 2024

Throughout 2024 we will be focusing as a congregation on creating

a church culture that cares for the other!

We will begin with two specific actions that represent this care.

1. We are implementing a church wide practice of

writing it down! If you have information, for me, for the office, for your friend who is on the same ministry team with you, share it verbally with them, but also write it down and hand it to them. You can handwrite a note, type it out, email it . . . but let’s take this extra step, every time as a way of showing you care for the others. It will lessen the amount of stress and difficulty in all of our lives.

2. In January we are going to focus on giving toward the Ruth’s Harvest Ministry.

This very special ministry feeds some of our most vulnerable, our children.

The burden they carry has grown, as they are now feeding 210 children in grades K-8 each weekend and holiday break. Giving was down this past year and the ministry is in significant need. So, if you are able, please give financially

(put Ruth’s Harvest on the memo line of your check), or in goods to Ruth’s Harvest January. Donations of individual, shelf stable, single serving size items for breakfast, lunch or snacks are greatly appreciated.

Ruth's Harvest Clothes Closet is looking for gently used children's coats. The next give away is scheduled for Saturday, January 20. Contact Sue Mauck (717) 359-7748 for more information on how to donate or how to volunteer.

Loving Father, We ask that you hear our prayers today, and hear the prayers of our brothers and sisters. . .

Living as an Overcomer

TONY EVANS

Description

Eternal Motivation for Earthly Success

The unique hardships of our modern lives can often feel insurmountable. But God’s Word reveals to us that there is no obstacle, habit, or situation we face that Jesus hasn’t already given us the power to conquer. In this eight-session study, bestselling author Dr. Tony Evans examines how Christ’s message to the seven churches in Revelation can challenge, convict, and lead us toward emphatic victory over any difficulty in life. As we heed God’s instructions to the early church, we will learn to reject lukewarm faith and start living as overcomers.
