What's New
Loads of Love - Saturday, April 4th
This event serves those with continuing and possibly expanded needs for additional support at this time. For this event:
• 73 bags have been prepared. Our target was 100, but we were limited based upon available toilet paper. Each bag has: 4 pack of toilet paper, one roll of paper towels, one tube of toothpaste, enough toothbrushes for each family member, one deodorant, one bar of soap, shampoo/conditioner combination, and one laundry soap. A limited number of diapers, wipes, and feminine hygiene products on hand as well.
• Around 6 people will staff this event. 2 people to hand a bags to people in their cars (not in the church building). 2 people to "run" bags from the building. 2 people to help direct traffic in and out of our parking lot.
• We will track of the number of participants, families, and number in each family that we are serving
Thanks to Paula Foster and Kathy Christiansen for organizing this event. And thank you to everyone who has helped with donations of products and funds.

Weekly Devotion for consideration:
Adult Education - Animate: Practices, #3 Money
Augsburg Fortress has graciously allowed us to copy the material we have bought and share it with our congregation. This week’s focus is on Money. If you click on the link below, you should be able to see the video of Shane Claiborne speaking on "Money: The Joy of Sharing." After you watch this, I invite you to think about the following questions and answer them with a family member or friend, or send this to a friend, and have them watch it and then call you back and talk through the questions or the journal questions.
Here’s the link to video #3 Money:

Here is a copy of Shane Claiborne's journal for this week and questions to ask and think about: Animate Practices Journal-ShaneClaiborne-Money.pdf
Pages 72-79 are meant to lead you through reflecting on this video with others, Pages 80-85 give you questions to ponder and journal on during the week.
Feel free to email Pastor Becky ( ) with your questions or responses.
Daily Readings on the Topic of Money for the Week:
Wednesday: 1 John 4:7-21
Thursday: 1 Timothy 6:9-19
Friday: Matthew 19: 16-26
Saturday: Ecclesiastes 5:10,18-20
*Footnote in the Lutheran Study Bible:
How does Luther reflect on Ecclesiastes’ view of riches?
Referring to the book’s author as King Solomon, Luther says this about the passage on riches: ‘Solomon does not condemn riches, nor does he forbid that we acquire riches or food or drink. But he calls these things gifts of God in order to teach us to put down our anxieties; then we shall wait for all of these things from God by faith and when God wills shall surrender them with patience… Therefore riches are not to be rejected. Nor are they granted to us by God for the purpose of our rejecting them or abstaining from them, but rather so that we use them and distribute them to the poor. This statement is the interpreter of the entire book: Solomon intends to forbid vain anxieties, so that we may happily enjoy the things that are present and not care at all about the things that are in the future, lest we permit the present moment, our moment, to slip away’
(Luther Works 15:93). Ecc. 5:18-20”
Sunday: Matthew 6:19-27
Monday: Luke 12:13-21
Tuesday: Luke 12:22-34
God Sightings
Tom Olson God sighting - Mens Ministry on-line bible study unexpectedly blessed the Saturday Morning group with one new member (Matt W) and one previous member from many, many years gone by (Ron Olsen). That got the group thinking that others may be interested and we may have a chance to reconnect with other previous members (Jay J and Brad VH). If you are interested in participating, contact Tom O or Paul Chr.
