  • Lodging: The Race Headquarters is once again the Hilton Garden Inn, just down the road from Granite Peak. The room block closed January 11 for the Hilton, but there may still be rooms available. We also identified other options for lodging on the Race Event Notice. Look for the Lodging Block section.

We will be posting our run orders online as well as emailing them to all athletes before each run. Due to this, please be sure to have your phone on your person at the event so you can view your position online. We will both send run orders to your email on file, and also post them to our new results website MastersRaceDay.com. Additionally, we may also post them on Live-Timing.com. We intend to also post real-time results on Live-Timing.

Cyr Cup Feb 21-23
The Cyr Cup is back! This year there will be 4 total races, and the series will be 100% Slalom. There will be an individual winner for men and women competing in this event. All participants compete as Individuals. Midwest Masters allows those under 18 to race, however a parent/guardian must also be racing. Those racers under age 18 do not qualify for the Cyr Cup awards. Each race is two runs, and combined time determines the winner of each race.

February 21-23, 2022 @ Buck Hill
  • Monday and Tuesday is 3 total runs. The first two runs comprise Race 1 or 2 as listed below. The 3rd run is part of the 3rd complete race for the series.
  • Wednesday is race 4 and there will only be 2 runs that night. You may take all 3 runs Monday and Tuesday, but must be registered for Race 3 to be listed in the official result and to be considered for the Cyr Cup trophy.

Border Battle Recap
With the 2021 Border Battle unfortunately cancelled last season due to COVID, we were very pleased that the 2022 Border Battle successfully kicked off our season this year with 29 competitors racing GS on Saturday, January 8th and 21 SL competitors on Sunday, January 9th.

The Border Battle Trophy is a yearly trophy awarded to either Region I (primarily Minnesota) or Region II (primarily Wisconsin and Illinois) whose team scores the most points for all races in the event. The top 10 point scorers based upon Age Class Place Points for each Region are selected. The sum of the Age Class Points for each of the top 10 members are compared to one another and the Region with the most points wins the Border Battle competition and will get their Region and names engraved on the Border Battle trophy.

Congratulations to Region I as the winner of the Border Battle Trophy this year and a big thank you to Wild Mountain for their support with this race!!

Ski Cooper Recap
Midwest Masters comes back with the Shin Tuck Showdown trophy with some great racing from our COVID-reduced team. It was a great week of great training and racing that started with a NEW Downhill Camp aimed at Speed Fundamentals on Wednesday. It was a huge hit both with newbies and the speed veterans so we'll absolutely be doing it again next year. Tuesday was another camp with full length timed runs and video analysis. Friday had warm up runs and 3 formal DH training runs. Saturday had the final DH training run in the morning, with two DH races following. Sunday was the SG in the morning with a SL following. What an awesome event! Check out videos from the event on our YouTube page, including a great how-to in ski packing from our own Scott Malmsten. We'll be back again next year... come join us! Life is short!

Here are the results for all training runs and races:
