Midwest Partnership Annual Dinner
Midwest Partnership EDC's Annual Dinner is an opportunity for area developers, business and community leaders to gather together and celebrate the successes of the region over the past year. Attendees will also hear from a keynote speaker, Colleen Conrad and Kacey Peterson. The Annual Dinner is held on January 23rd at the Casey Community Building. Senior Housing Development in Guthrie Center
The Guthrie Center City Council approved setting a public hearing on December 9th for disposal of parcels of land between 5th and 7th streets to Bart Goplerud and Leslie Clemenson for $500 at their meeting Monday night. The couple presented the Council with an earnest money check in the amount of $125, and City Administrator Laura Wolfe mentioned the couple would have to pay approximately $3,000 in other legal fees.
The couple own 605 North 7th Street and wish to purchase 602 North 5th Street, and use this combined property to pursue a senior housing development.

Greenfield has opened a new store, Greenfield Home Store & More. They have opened the store where Shopko Hometown building! The store has a variety of inventory, stop in and check them out!

Grant Opportunities
Region XII Council of Governments held a Derelict Building Program Workshop in Ogden, Iowa on November 13, 2019. The purpose of the workshop was to inform, educate, and review potential projects for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) FY 2020 Derelict Building Program Grant round with community leaders. The Derelict Building Program is targeted to serve rural communities under 5,000 population to improve the attractiveness and appearance of their community. The program provides financial assistance to address neglected commercial or public structures that have been vacant for at least 6 months. The program’s main focus is landfill diversion through recycling and reuse of building materials and the elimination of hazards both inside and out created by these empty structures.
