2020 Annual Dinner
Midwest Partnership EDC's Annual Dinner is an opportunity for area developers, business and community leaders to gather together and celebrate the successes of the region over the past year. Attendees will also hear from a keynote speaker, Colleen Conrad.Colleen will be taling about how she first got involved with helping her hometown, how Colleen and her husband created the grant committee, her goals for the grant committee, and much more! The Annual Dinner takes place on the January 23, centrally located in the Midwest Partnership region, at the Casey Community Building in Casey, Iowa. There will be a social reception starting at 5:45 pm with dinner at 6:30 pm to follow.

Third Phase Housing Development Begins Construction
Stuart Enterprise for Economic Development, Inc. (S.E.E.D.) and the City of Stuart have partnered once again to build a new housing development, having completed Wambold Addition with 32 lots and Wambold 2nd Addition with 24 lots. The third phase of housing, called the All Saints Addition, will be located next to the West Central Valley High School to the west and will offer 39 lots available for new construction single-family residential homes. Lots will be free, except for legal and abstracting costs. The project broke ground the week of November 11th and is expected to be completed at the end of August 2020.

Lt. Gov. Gregg Talks about Building Renovation in Guthrie Center
On the last stop of his annual 99-county tour Gregg visited the historic Williams Building at 407 State Street, which was purchased by Main Street Guthrie Center in 2017 and has since had the first-floor facade renovated where Central Iowa Family Eyecare, Pearls & Lace Country Boutique, and Imagine the Possibilities are housed. The Main Street Guthrie Center Board is now focused on renovating the second and third floors into apartments.

The RBDG program supports targeted technical assistance and training to develop or expand small and emerging private businesses in rural communities or areas. Entities and organizations including communities, state agencies, nonprofit corporations, rural cooperatives, higher learning institutions, rural cooperatives and federally recognized tribes are eligible to apply for program funding.
