Saint Joseph High School Midwinter Dance Announcements
Dancing on the Boardwalk!

The SJHS Midwinter Dance is Sunday, Jan. 20 from 8-11 PM at the Hilton Garden Inn. This dance is open to all Saint Joseph High School students. We want this dance to be a memorable and joyful experience for all that attend. Please keep in mind the guidelines and policies that are in place.

All students and their guests must arrive by 9:00 PM. We encourage students to arrive earlier to avoid long lines at check-in. Students are asked to use the event entrance on the northwest side of the building and not come in the regular hotel entrance. In order to ensure a safe, healthy, and fun environment for all attendees, all students and guests will be breathalyzed by South Bend Police. No drinks or food should be brought to the dance. Below are the Student-Parent Handbook guidelines regarding dances. We remind all students and parents to review these policies.

Handbook Guidelines
Students who leave a dance prior to its conclusion will not be permitted to reenter.
The school dress code is in effect regarding modesty, cleanliness, neatness, and appropriate clothing. Students inappropriately dressed will be denied admission.
All school rules are fully enforced at dances; dances are considered part of the “school zone.”

Dancing Expectations
1.      SJHS dances are intended to be fun for all those who attend. It is the expectation of the faculty and administration that students conduct themselves appropriately before, during, and after all dances.
2.      As always, students should celebrate this night without using drugs or alcohol.

3.      Students are required to dance in an appropriate manner. Sexually suggestive dancing, such as “grinding,” will not be permitted. Students should face those they are dancing with, and students’ midsections should not come in contact with any other body part of another student. Students who dance in an inappropriate manner will be required to leave the dance, and additional consequences may result, and parents will be called. Refunds will not be given to students removed from any dances for violating school policies.

4.      These expectations are designed to allow all in attendance to enjoy the night in a mature and respectful fashion.
