We have loved returning to regular weekly programming and reconnecting with many of your students! Midyouth is off to a great start this fall.


Registration for Refuge is now open with more details below. Additionally, in this email, you can find out about our upcoming fundraiser, fall retreats, fall kickoff party, and opportunities for parents to connect and volunteer.

Midyouth Dates

Refuge (10/31-11/2)

Refuge is a Conference led Retreat for 6th-9th graders at Shepherd of the Ozarks. We recognize that this is Halloween weekend. We are planning something fun for Friday night! Additionally, we are considering a small Saturday early-morning carpool if we have some interested families. Registration is now open! Register for Refuge

Parent Rally and Breakfast (9/21) ***NEW DATE***

(10:00-11:00am, during Sunday School hour)

All youth parents are invited and encouraged to attend. Ellen will share information about the youth program, and you'll have a chance to ask questions and meet other youth parents.


Refuge Volunteers (10/31-11/2)

Refuge is a Conference led Retreat for 6th-9th graders at Shepherd of the Ozarks. This is typically a very popular event and we need lots of parent volunteers to make it happen. Adult volunteers can register now, and adults come free!

We need a new 2025-2026 Health form to be completed for ALL YOUTH who might participate in any youth activities this year. This helps us greatly, so we won't have to hunt you down later! Plus, it's simple!

Wednesday Night Midyouth Volunteers

Midyouth volunteers help serve dinner and chaperone small groups. Complete the form below if you're interested in learning more!

SATURDAY, SEP 6, 9:30am-3:30pm


All youth 5th-12th are invited and encouraged to participate in this Youth Fundraiser! This fundraiser is always a huge success for the youth department and we need your help to make it happen!


-For helping, you'll earn reduced mission trip fees. Adult volunteers will also earn scholarship dollars towards students' fees.

-Please either drop students off at the church or park elsewhere in Hillcrest and walk to the church. We'll sell every parking spot we have!

-Pizza Lunch is provided!

PHUMC Basketball League registration will be open September 15 - October 15 for the 2025 season. There are 2 options - you can register as part of a PHUMC team or sign up as an individual to be assigned to a team.


Basketball League is open to students who DO NOT play for a school team. Boy's Leagues: 6th-8th and 9th-12th. Girl's League: 9th-12th.

On Sunday, Sep. 21 we are kicking off the year of youth programming.


Im the morning, during the Sunday school hour, we'll be hosting a Parent Rally and Breakfast. This is an opportunity to hear from our youth director, Ellen Rowland, learn more about this year's youth programming, and have an opportunity to ask questions.


That evening, all youth (5th-12th) are invited to join us at Allsopp Park for a cookout and evening of games (6:00-7:30pm).

All youth 5th to 12 grade are invited to participate in this fun evening together. Transportation will be provided. No registration needed.

Calling all 6th to 9th graders! Spots for Refuge typically go quick. Watch for a registration link in August!


Refuge (October 31-November 2 at Shepherd of the Ozarks in Harriet, AR) is an opportunity for Jr. High/Middle School youth to be introduced to the connectional events of the Arkansas Conference Council on Youth Ministries of the United Methodist Church. They enjoy a weekend in the beautiful outdoors, focusing on Christ, developing friendships, and having fun while getting away from the busyness of life. This event will be held at Shepherd of the Ozarks, a great setting filled with large, comfortable log cabins surrounded by bluffs and a creek.


We recognize that this is Halloween weekend. We are planning something fun for Friday night! Additionally, we are considering a small Saturday early-morning carpool if we have some interested families.


Adults, would you consider joining us as a chaperone? There is no cost aside from your time (and maybe a little sleep), but it's so worth it to be a part of this wonderful weekend! Interested adults register below.
