One good thing the new year brings is a higher minimum wage for most.  As our migrant labor force returns for the next season, it will be important to educate them that higher wages apply, especially at farms using H-2A labor. 
Michigan Attorney General Opinion Leaves Some Farm Workers Outside of State Minimum Wage Protections 
Some small farms in Michigan are not required to pay migrant and seasonal workers the state or federal minimum wage, according to an opinion issued by Attorney General Bill Schuette's office Tuesday.                                                             AG opinion here
