January 15 - Meal and Meditation resumed last Wednesday, with regulars meeting at the church at 4 PM for meditation, then deciding where to eat afterwards. (This time it was Sicily's.) The group is having a great time, and we are all overjoyed to have our dear Jan Vaughan back in action! Everyone is welcome to join us this Wednesday. There is a different Meditation leader each week, so that keeps things new and fresh.
January 16 - A Course in Miracles will meet 10 AM. It will be live at the church and also available via Zoom at the same time. This schedule will continue from 10 to 11:30 every week, until further notice. As co-facilitator Peggy Lince says, "The course is open to all people wishing to achieve peace and universal love by forgiving others and creating non-judgmental relationships."
February 2 - Town Hall Meeting - after the service, with a short break to allow a bit of socialization and to get a beverage and snack. Mike and the board members will discuss church finances, as well as current and upcoming projects and events. The floor will be open for a Q & A session, and to hear any questions or comments you may have. All are welcome and encouraged to participate, and your feedback is vital to the growth and future of our church.
February 20 - the Taize Connection. We will enter in silence and leave in silence. Mike will provide the music and lead us in chants and repetitive sounds that will open our minds and souls and deepen our spiritual relationship with God and our church family. There will be more information as we draw closer to the date.
REMINDERS - Let us stay mindful of our commitment to Community Outreach. We are in a committed relationship with POSITIVE PATHWAYS, and their need for assistance is ongoing. We continue to serve those in need through our donations to PENNIES FROM HEAVEN and the relief fund managed by Rev Darlene Strickland and the UNITY CHURCH OF THE BLUE RIDGE, as they continue to provide assistance to the many people whose lives are still seriously impacted by Hurricane Helene. Thank you and bless you for helping to make a difference in the lives of others.
