Our Palm Sunday service was made even more special by Rev Robin Volker's powerful message , which was followed by a glowing meditation. While our choir numbered only four of our regulars (Little Jeanette Senart was tucked into the back row), their enthusiasm was contagious. The spiritual energy was evident from Rick Volker's opening prayer through the lively singing of our Peace Song. Be sure to join us next Sunday for a memorable Easter service with Mike Davis, who just returned from a family visit in beautiful Vancouver.

Mike Davis created this video in 2016, two days after a tragic shooting at the Pulse, a popular nightclub in Orlando. Cathy Dewitt joined Mike in the background vocals, and Paula Davis was the videographer. It's a brief and stirring reminder of why it's so important to shine our light into the world, spreading the message of love and peace on Easter Sunday and every day.

LAST REMINDER: Join Walt and Joanne Massey on April 11 at 10 AM. The group will meet at Jacks Knob Trailhead at the Chattahoochee River Headwaters for this 4.6 mile hike.

Jacks Knob Trail starts at Jack’s Gap, which is located near the Brasstown Bald entrance south of Blairsville, GA. The trail extends through dense hardwood forests, along ridges with some scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Meet at the trailhead near GA Hwy 180 and the base of the Brasstown Bald entrance.

This photo was taken on Day 3 of a hike on a portion of the Appalachian Trail which started at Woody Gap. Day 1 was Walt and Joanne's 26th anniversary, so he met Joanne and Jayne for a brief celebration. Mary Elder joined them on the third day for an overnight stay at one of the shelters. Joanne says she has hiked four sections of the trail, and you can rest assured that there will be more in the future. (Check out Mary's spiffy AT cap!)

Mike Davis has talked many times about the fact that our Food Bank donations are now being taken to the Ecumenical Food Pantry at the Mountain Presbyterian Church on Hwy 515. Below is some information on their program that you may find useful. For more information on their hours and what is required to register with the food bank, just google their website or Facebook page.

POSITIVE PATHWAYS - Our church family continues to support this worthy organization with donations of items needed to support their community outreach. This month, Linda Beaver, says they would appreciate donations of individually wrapped snacks and office supplies. The full list of their ongoing needs is posted on the bulletin board in the hallway.

Our small team of volunteers is dedicated to helping our church family by providing assistance such as delivering meals during a time of recovery, or offering transportation for a local medical appointment. Actually, the cat's name is Angelica, and she is part of the feline family on Suzi Henry's Funny Farm. She might take a swipe at the bunny or chick, but her three favorite things in life are 1) begging for treats, 2) trying to open every door and cupboard in the house and 3) batting and chewing the shoelaces on all of Mom's sneakers.
