Love and Happiness

Question: Is happiness the most important thing?

A few days ago, I saw a quote from a teacher who I respect and like very much. She said exactly that:

“Happiness is the most important thing.”

Wow. A statement like that can land like the old cosmic 2x4 upside your head. At the very least, it gets your attention. It can also invite some mental and spiritual exploration.

Celebrating Our Church Family

Back for another command performance, Angela Harmons sparkled, she glowed and she delivered a powerful meditation and message. After the service, she and her "distinguished gentleman friend," Clinton Butler, visited our recently installed Peace Pole and proclaimed it a lovely and harmonious addition to our labryinth and meditation garden. Thank you, Angie, and long may your beautiful light shine upon everyone you meet.

UCOM Hiking & Adventure Club August 1st Outing

Not only is our Board President, Walt Massey, the trailblazer on every hike, but he also employs clever and creative photography to capture the feeling of each outing. Last Saturday Walt found himself surrounded by a bevy of beauties - Jayne Rizner, Peggy Lince and his spunky wife, Joanne. Some guys have all the luck, right?

EVERY THURSDAY - A Course in Miracles - from 10-11:30 AM at the church. Contact Linda Hall at 386-527-4294 for a Zoom link.

August 12 - Meditation - 5 PM at the church. The Meditation group meets the Second Wednesday of the month during the summer.

August 13 - 9:30 AM - UCM Mountain Time Men's Group - The Blairsville Restaurant, 40 Earnest St. The group meets the second Thursday of the month unless otherwise noted.

August 16 - after the service - ANNUAL MEETING.

If you have not already done so, please return your membership renewal form and your ballot. You return the ballot in person OR by email. Check your emails for the ballot sent out by outgoing secretary Kathy Garcia.

Church & Community Outreach

PENNIES FROM HEAVEN - Your generous donations provide assistance for those occasional emergencies that sometimes befall our church family. If you or someone you know needs help, please contact our Spiritual Leader, Mike Davis.

POSITIVE PATHWAYS - We continue to support this worthy organization. The full list of their ongoing needs is posted on the bulletin board in the hallway.

ECUMENICAL FOOD PANTRY - The list of most needed items is posted in the hallway.
