MIKE LEVINE OFFICIALLY CALLS ON GOVERNOR RON DESANTIS TO HELP HALT THE INVASION AT THE SOUTHERN BORDER

Mount Dora, Florida (January 30th, 2024) - Today, candidate for State Representative of Florida House District 26 Mike Levine releases the following statement calling on Governor Ron DeSantis to take immediate action and use all the resources at his disposal to help secure the southern border and halt the invasion of illegal immigrants into the country:

"Florida is home to the third-largest illegal immigrant population in the United States, and it's time for our state to take a stand and protect our citizens. We must do everything in our power to stop this invasion and ensure the safety and security of our communities.

That is why I am calling on Governor Ron DeSantis to send the Florida National Guard and State Guard to the Texas border to assist in the efforts to secure the border and prevent illegal entry into our country.

In addition, the following legislative priorities should be considered in the Florida Legislature:

1.) Pass Texas-style legislation making illegal entry into Florida a state crime.

2.) Immediately deny all taxpayer-funded services and subsidies to illegal aliens.

3.) Mandate E-Verify for all private and public sector employment.

4.) Assert the Governor's duty under Article 1, Section 10, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution to declare an invasion.

5.) Direct the Governor to enter into an interstate compact with one or more states to fund and secure the U.S. Southern Border Wall.

These measures are necessary to protect Florida's citizens and to prevent the continued influx of illegal immigrants into the state."
