Miles Street  Roadway Pavement Replacement Project  Scheduled
 
Houston, TX - Houston City Council Member Dave Martin is pleased to announce Houston Public Works will begin the Miles Street Roadway Pavement Replacement Project in the Northshore area the week of July 22, 2019, weather permitting. The project will replace the existing asphalt with concrete to improve safety and mobility on Miles Street from Market Street to Industrial Road. The scope of work includes replacement of the roadway pavement, manhole adjusting, and re-grading the roadside ditches to facilitate drainage. The project is expected to be completed by end of January 2020, weather permitting. 

Crews will be on site from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The project will be completed in 10 phases, block by block. Crews will begin in the southbound lane, between Ellen Lane and Industrial Road. Once that phase is complete, crews will begin in the northbound lane, between Ellen Lane and Industrial Road. Crews will continue moving northward, alternating southbound lane to northbound lane, until crews reach Market Street. Please see the map below for reference. 

Residents and business owners should be aware individual driveways could be inaccessible for approximately 5 days however temporary driveway access will be provided. Once construction begins on the street, crews will give residences and business owners 72 hours notice in advance. 

A s a result of the construction activities, please be aware of flagmen and orange traffic cones that will be put in place on site to help with traffic flow through the construction zone as temporary lane closures are expected.  Residents may experience an increase in noise levels due to trucks and equipment in the area.
