That 21-hull mark connects directly to the Viking 92, which made its public debut at FLIBS in October 2014 and set the benchmark for large, world-traveling sportfishing yachts. It combined size, speed, engineering and luxury in a way the market had not seen before in a yacht of its type, giving owners the accommodations and range of a motor yacht with the performance and fishability of a Viking.
The 92’s production run came to a close not because demand faded, but because international emissions regulations changed the future of large diesel-powered yachts. By the time the final 92 left New Gretna in April 2021, Viking had delivered 21 yachts over a 6 1/2-year run – a remarkable achievement for a 92-foot production-built sportfisher.
Now, the 90 has reached that same 21-hull mark in about 3 1/2 years, a pace made possible by the 92’s success and the demand it helped create for Viking’s next flagship. Above: The Viking 92 Sky Bridge – hull No. 17.
