Board decides to not put Bond Issue on March 2020 ballot

At their meeting November 14, the Board of Education decided to not place a bond issue on the March 2020 ballot. The Board of Education and District Administration studied timing for a future bond request to maintain the current quality of education provided to Milford students and to modernize school facilities with state-of-the-art equipment and technology that is needed for current college prep and job skills training. While the Board decided to not place the bond issue on the March 2020 ballot, the need has not gone away. The Board and Administration will continue to seek community input on the plan that the Community Advisory Team recommended: building a new junior high school for grades 6-8 and include site safety at the shared junior high/high school campus - which includes updated traffic flow and parking - and to add space for programs currently held in modular classrooms.

Veteran's Day Celebrated Around the District & at the Board Meeting

On Veteran's Day each of our schools held presentations and assemblies to honor those who have served. Thank you to the hundreds of Veterans who visited our schools to share this special day with our students. Check out a video of highlights:
At the Board of Education meeting November 14 the new Veterans Wall of Honor was dedicated. The wall is located at the District's Administrative Office. This year's presentation paid tribute to seven Vietnam War veterans, all Milford alumni, who died during battle or as the result of the War: Daniel Feck, Gerald Hill, Rodney Huddleson, Dennis Johnson, Roger Lay, Clifford Leffler, and Louis Speidel. Family members of the fallen were in attendance for a special presentation. Click here to view school and military photos of those honored.

Reminder about School Delay & Closing Notifications

W inter weather is upon us and with it comes the possibility of school closings and delays due to natural elements, hazardous road conditions, or power outages. Student, parent, and staff safety is the most important consideration when inclement weather calls are made.

How are delay and closing notifications made? Parents are notified by the SchoolMessenger notification program - by text, phone call, and/or email. If your phone number or email address has changed, be sure to let your child's school know. Click here for contact information for each building

Closings and delays are also communicated on television, radio, the district website, the district's Facebook page and the district's Twitter feed .

If a notice is not posted in those locations, school is on as scheduled.
