Eagle eNews - August 7, 2020
Starting today, we will send our e-newsletter to all of our Milford families each Friday afternoon during this transition of back-to-school to keep you updated on new developments and information.
Video Message from Superintendent John Spieser:
School Begins August 24

Students who choose In-Person will be in our school buildings for the first day of school on Monday, August 24. Students who choose Eagle Online will begin their online learning August 24.

Students and parents should prepare now to return to school August 24, barring any significant changes in the local data trends and the Ohio Public Health Advisory System.

Refer to our Return to Learning Plan (download here) to read how the district will make decisions between Plan A (Students are In-Person and in Eagle Online) or Plan B (In-Person Students switch to Remote Learning and Eagle Online students remain in Eagle Online.) Those details are on pages 19-25.
Decision Form for Learning Choice DUE TODAY

Parents must fill out the Decision Form by midnight tonight, telling us if they wish for their children to learn In-Person or in Eagle Online.

If you already submitted your choice, you do not need to resubmit the form. If you change your mind, you may submit another form by midnight tonight. We will date-stamp all submissions and use the latest form you submitted.

Shields Purchased for In-Person Students

We are happy to announce that as an additional health safety measure, we have purchased lightweight, portable clear shields for each Milford student and staff member. Each In-Person student will have a shield assigned to them.

These shields will be placed on the student's desk and they will take them with them when they move around the school building to different classrooms and for use at lunch.

These shields will provide an extra protection for students and staff along with wearing face masks.
Flow Chart: Steps Taken When Someone Tests Positive for COVID-19

We have developed specific protocols for what happens if a student or teacher tests positive for COVID-19.

The first page of the flow chart has a school building icon at the top - indicating the steps taken when a student or employee reports illness while at school.

The second page of the flow chart has a home icon at the top - indicating the steps taken when a student or employee is feeling ill while at home.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • If a student or staff member receives a positive COVID-19 test, they are required to: let the school know so contact tracing can begin, quarantine for at least 14 days, and receive a negative COVID-19 test prior to returning to school and produce proof of the results to the school district.

  • If a student or staff member has been in close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19, they are required to: notify the school and quarantine for at least 14 days regardless of positive or negative test result for COVID-19.

  • COVID-19 symptoms are: fever above 100 degrees, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell, cough, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
