MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT:
Hello Milford Families,

We've completed two weeks of school so far, and they've been great! We appreciate your continued patience as we head into week three. As you can see from the pictures included below, our Eagles have been busy learning new things.

Please continue to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.

Make it a great week!

Sincerely,

John W. Spieser
Superintendent

PHOTO ROUNDUP FROM OUR CLASSROOMS

Check out what's been happening in our classrooms!
Mulberry sixth graders show off a Monarch butterfly. The class has partnered with the Cincinnati Nature Center to develop a nature scape in the school's backyard that attracts caterpillars. The students get to watch the caterpillars transform into butterflies while studying the scientific method.
Hope Squad members shared messages of hope to their peers during lunch at Milford High School during World Suicide Prevention Day.
Meadowview Fourth Graders learned about making pinch pots and about how to correctly attach pieces of clay together. They are creating clay monsters.
Second Grade Eagle Online teacher Blaire Schlosser smiles at her desk. In the next photo, her students are shown with their favorite books.
Students in Mrs. Schlosser's Eagle Online class show off their favorite books on screen.
Kindergarteners in Ms. Minors' class at Charles L. Seipelt Elementary sorted their math materials by color, shape and size.
Ninth Grade Community students in World History used digital and print materials to complete a map of Europe.
Students in Mrs. Baker's Kindergarten class at Boyd E. Smith Elementary celebrated Yellow Day and learned about scissor safety.
Mulberry Elementary Second Graders in Mrs. Otts' class read the book Rosie's Glasses and learned through the book's powerful pictures that they can change their mindset and find the good around them.
ONLINE COVID REPORTING DASHBOARD

An order from the Ohio Governor's Office mandates required reporting of students testing positive for COVID. If your child is ill and they are exhibiting the symptoms of COVID, parents must report their child’s symptoms to us either by calling our hotline (513) 576-4150 or filling out a secure form. If your child receives a positive COVID-19 test, you must report the results to us.

Click here to access the form. After reporting by phone or through the form, parents will receive a follow up phone call from the district within 24 hours.

The district is required to report the information to our local health department, and also report the positive COVID-19 case to parents. When we know of a confirmed positive COVID-19 case, we will send an email to all parents who have a student in that building. Additional communication will go to parents who have a student in the same classroom or ride the same bus. Additionally, we will update the Dashboard graphic on our website:
Parents of students who may have been exposed to the confirmed positive COVID-19 case will receive a telephone call from the District and/or the Clermont County Health Department with instructions on how to quarantine. Students who are considered to be in close contact with a positive COVID-19 case are required to quarantine for at least 14 days. In order to return to school, a student who has a positive COVID-19 test result must have written clearance of release of quarantine by Clermont County Public Health.

If you hear of a case and you were not contacted by phone then you can safely assume the case was not in your child’s school or on your child’s bus and your child does not need to quarantine.

Each time there is a positive COVID-19 test we will not send an email district wide. Only parents who have children in the buildings where the positive COVID-19 case was reported will receive communication from us. We may or may not issue a press release or post on social media. However, updated information will be available on our website page
Welcome Our New Staff!

Join us in welcoming new faces to our district! This year we welcomed two dozen new staff members to our Milford family. Our staff is our most important resource for our students and are grateful for the quality of this group. INFORMATION WORTH REPEATING:
ANNOUNCEMENT: All Milford Students Now Eat For Free

We are happy to announce that the Ohio Department of Education, under the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food, and Nutrition Services, has notified our district that 100 percent of students attending Milford Schools (both In-Person and Eagle Online) are eligible for free breakfast and lunch through December 31, 2020. Any meal charges for September 1 and after will be credited back to the child’s meal account. Due to the large number of students, it may take a while for this to happen.

What this means is that all Milford students in grades Preschool through 12 will not be charged for meals they purchase at school. Eagle Online students who receive to-go meals will not be charged either. If you have pre-paid for your child's meals that balance will remain in your account until January 2021.

However, in order to possibly extend this benefit past December 31, 2020, we ask parents who think they may qualify for free and reduced meals to please fill out the Free and Reduced Price Meal Application (found here on our website). If families were approved last year they need to apply again this year. This benefits the District and plays a part in qualifying Milford Schools for future extensions of free meals district-wide.

(If you received a Direct Certification letter in the mail from Milford Nutrition Services, you do not need to apply. You will need to contact the Nutrition office if you have any children who were not listed on the letter.)

Eagle Online students need to first register to receive meals by calling (513) 576-2290 or (513) 576-4160. Packages of frozen meals for seven days will be available for pickup at Milford High School on Fridays between 7:45 and 8:15 a.m.
WHAT TYPE OF MASK IS ACCEPTABLE?

All Milford students attending In-Person and all staff are required to wear a cloth face covering that covers their nose, chin, and mouth. Click here to download this printable guide.
IMPORTANT FOR THOSE ATTENDING IN-PERSON: PERFORM A DAILY WELLNESS CHECK

It is vitally important that parents perform daily wellness checks on their children before sending them to school.

Take your child's temperature each morning and if they have a fever above 100 degrees, do not send them to school. If your child is showing any of these symptoms, do not send them to school: fever, loss of taste or smell, cough, difficulty breathing, or shortness of breath.
