We cannot believe that it is March! We will continue our most popular scheduled programs: crafts, airplane flying, youth council, nutrition, nail salon, fit camp, boxing, quiet zone and iPad studio!

We will be starting an awesome new program called POUND, thanks to the support of the Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation! Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training
with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted
drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms
drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out. Designed for all fitness levels, POUND® provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up and rockin' out! The workout is easily modifiable and the alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeals to boys and girls of all ages and abilities.

We are also bringing back our popular March Madness tourney, where youth of all ages participate all month in a double elimination 3 vs. 3 tournament. All the youth participants will receive a t-shirt and trophies and medals will be awarded at the end of the month! MYC Youth Council (MYCYC) Updates:  March  2019

MYC Youth Council is a leadership and community service-based organization comprised of after school members of all ages striving to make a difference in the community through facilitating several youth community events as well as taking part in volunteer opportunities!

This past month our Youth Council Members have been very busy with matters of the heart!  For our first meeting of the month, Youth Council worked on creating valentines to bring to the Milford Senior Center for their Valentine's Day Tea and presented them to the Senior Center on February 14th!

For our second meeting, we split up and one half of Youth Council finished
making the senior's valentines while the other half helped recruit members of the Youth Center to create Hearts of Kindness to display for our ceremony on February 15th to celebrate National Random Acts of Kindness Day!
We were asked by The Regional Substance Navigation Program to team up with them, as well as Milford Public Schools and Community Impact to celebrate small acts of kindness through the Hearts of Kindness organization! Hearts of Kindness is an organization from Uxbridge that has been running for seven years, and is intended to be a community-wide reminder of how far small acts of kindness go! We loved being a part of it!

For our last meeting of the month, Youth Council again split into two groups. Our first group decorated a Mental Health Awareness board that will be hung out in the lobby with resources for those that may be struggling or have a loved one that is struggling. The second group decorated a MYCYC bulletin board that features pictures of our achievements and more information on all of the wonderful things we are able to do!
