Volunteer Spotlight: Lily Robinson!

We are always looking for ways to thank our community and especially our volunteers. This month we would like to recognize the efforts of Lily Robinson!

Lily is one of our youngest volunteers at the Milford Youth Center but has not been shy about getting involved in as much as possible. Lily started volunteering right before our big Halloween event last year. During this event Lily not only volunteered to help do facing painting for our community, but also brought some of her own supplies! Since that event she has been consistently volunteering during Homework Help and Youth Council on Wednesdays. Although Lily is not from Milford herself, she has become a great addition to our volunteer family and we are so thankful to have youth volunteer who holds the qualities we like to promote within our Youth Center After-School members. Thank you Lily!
MYC Youth Council Updates!

Our Youth Council kids have not stopped this year! Several weeks before Valentines Day our Youth Council kids have already been hard at work making Valentines for both Senior Center members and in honor of Hearts of Kindness week last month. The kids were so excited to hear they would be making 100 Valentines cards for members of the Milford Senior Center. We love all of our Senior volunteers at the Milford Youth Center and what better way than to have one of our volunteers, Barbara Brashier deliver the cards on Valentines Day during the Senior Center's Valentine Celebration.  We truly
hope they enjoyed their cards and that the messages from our kids put smiles on their faces.

Our heart theme did not stop on Valentine's Day! Our Youth Council continued to make hearts for February's Hearts of Kindness week, where they created heart shaped pockets to hold all of the acts of kindness that our After-School Program kids have made an effort to do last month. This year our numbers have grown to over 100 acts of kindness. Thank you to Lisa Trusas from the Milford Police Station for donating the craft supplies for this project and for taking on such a large task of collecting and presenting all of the acts of kindness in Milford. Click here for video that our After School member Joshua Rodriguez edited this Valentines Day piece with his training from Milford TV!

School lunches. Plans for highways. Support for firefighters and families in need. Census results affect your community every day! Help get the word out to make sure that everyone is counted!

The results of the 2020 Census will help determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding flow into communities every year for the next decade. That funding shapes many different aspects of every community, no matter the size, no matter the location.
