Back to it...

Wow, that was a crazy start to January, but this week provided an opportunity for everyone to get back to work in earnest!

We hosted our first of four 2018 Lottery Information Session's and processed over 60 applications! Special thanks to those who donated items for the Info Session and to Lauren Doukas who was our Parent Ambassador at the session. Please see the link below to sign up to help out at future sessions.

We kicked off a few new After School Clubs this week, including the No-Bake Cookie Club, the American Sign Language Club and the Drama Club. Even without the use of an oven, the Cookie Club made our kitchen smell amazing! Many thanks to Ms. Tana, Ms. Becca and Ms. Christine for sharing their time and passions with the children in these after school programs.

Amanda and Jen have been working hard on the details of our upcoming Spaghetti Dinner. Tickets are moving quickly, so please be sure to purchase yours today! See the box below for details. And, if you are the family who purchased tickets, but didn't write your name on the form, please send Roxanne a note!

Some of you have encountered error messages when trying to access our  website  this week. We have someone working on that problem and we are hopeful that it will be accessible to all quickly! Thanks for your patience.

The Breakthrough Manchester program is currently accepting applications. This multi-year, tuition-free summer program which is held on the campus of The Deerfield School, supports motivated students with limited opportunities  on the path to college. The only entry point to Breakthrough is the 6th grade year. To learn more about the program, please visit: breakthroughmanchester.org or call 603-641-9426.

In Memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On Monday, January 15th, MFCS will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

There are featured events around the state, including:

The  36th Annual Martin Luther King Day Community Celebration , which will take place at the  Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral (650 Hanover St., in the Hellenic Community Center).  The Celebration is sponsored by the Martin Luther King Coalition, which unites diverse local organizations dedicated to carrying on Dr. King's work to end racism, eliminate poverty, and promote peace through active nonviolence.

The MLK Day of Service, sponsored by Volunteer NH. On  January 15 from 9am to noon, at 72 Concord St, Manchester, NH. Join this free community event for all ages, featuring a diversity, service, and volunteer fair! We will also be accepting donations of canned chicken, canned tuna, peanut butter, canned soup, jelly, and other non perishables for the NH Food Bank.

Save the Date: 2018 Night of Community Event
Plans for our 3rd Annual Night of Community are falling into place!

Please plan to join us on June 9th at 6pm for an adult gathering and celebration in support of our school community.

This year, we have a new venue partner - the Palace Theatre! MFCS event organizers, Rachel Marziano and Mel Johansson are hard at work with ideas for the event which will be held in the Palace's newest space, just beside the Theatre on Hannover Street.

This annual event provides a wonderful opportunity for adults in our community to spend time together while raising critical funds for our school.

To learn more about the event, and find out how you can lend a hand, please contact Rachel Marziano.

MFCS Foundation's
Monthly Giving Program

Our sincere thanks to all those who participate in our Family & Friends Monthly Giving Program.

This Program provides us with a predicable income of fundraised dollars throughout the year. And provides donors with an easy way to share their support and treasure with us on a monthly basis.

As a thank you to participants, the names of those enrolled in our Monthly Giving Program are drawn monthly by a student in a small gift raffle. The winner of this month's raffle prize is the Boisvert Family! Thank you Kate and Peter for your ongoing support! The prize this month is a gift certificate to The Red Arrow!
