 Hard Work & Sharing...

The classrooms are buzzing with hard working children who returned from vacation energized!

We are looking forward to sharing some of the work generated recently during the All-School Study of North America. Please save the date - January 27th. We will welcome parents/guardians and friends to visit our classrooms from 9-9:30am. Plan to come in before then for a coffee/tea bar to enjoy time together as the children set up their classrooms.

Meanwhile, our Upper Elementary students are preparing for an Upper Elementary Dance scheduled for February 3rd from 6-8pm. This is being organized by students with supervision by Ms. Colleen, our Lead Teacher in the Zion Room. More details to follow.

Thank you(!) to Hind and Intisar for once again spoiling us with an incredible spread of delicious and beautiful food at this month's Professional Development/Staff Planning Day earlier this week. Your special delivery was so appreciated by staff - it kept us well-fed, alert, and full of great energy throughout the afternoon.

Please note that today we are sending home the Intent to Return Form. We ask that you complete and return this form which asks for information about your plans for your child/children for next year. The form is due back to us by or before January 27th so that we can have a clear sense of the number of openings we will have to offer in our upcoming Lottery. If you have any questions, please contact Meryl by email or phone.

Last night, we held our first of four Lottery 2017 Information Sessions. 40 adults joined us to learn more about our school. Special thanks to Amanda Gerardi for being a Parent Ambassador, and to Ms. Susanne for helping to organize our Lottery. An additional thanks to so many of you who shared food, flowers, plates and such so that we were able to give a warm welcome to our prospective families.

If you can lend a hand, or donate an item for the upcoming Lottery Information Sessions, please click here to visit our SignUp page. The dates for the information sessions are as follows:
            • Tuesday, February 7, 9am
            • Wednesday, February 22, 6pm
            • Saturday, March 4, 10am
Many thanks!!!
 Ongoing Projects of Generousity!

A few things of note coming up related to the spirit of giving...

Winter Food Drive...for our New Food Pantry!
Each Winter, the MFCS Community participates in a food drive.  This year, we are asking for your donations of  non-perishable dry-food items for our new Food Pantry.
Your donations will directly support members of our school community!

2017 Coat Drive
Mill Falls will be collecting clean, gently worn coats (any size) starting January 9th until January 30th!  Please drop them off in the donation box in the front lobby.  Please click here to see the flyer that went home today.

2017 Calendar Raffle:
MFCS Parent, Lisa Zonfrillo, is already hard at work collecting exciting and enticing raffle items for our 2017 Calendar Raffle

Here's how you can help:
1: If you have any great gift certificates that you'd be willing to donate to the Calendar Raffle, please email Lisa or drop them off at the MFCS front desk!

2: Additionally, Lisa is also looking for a corporate sponsor to support the printing of our calendars. The sponsorship is $200. Would your company or a local business you know be willing to support this? Each printed Calendar and our on-line PDF will feature the name of our sponsor. Again, please be in touch with Lisa to learn more.
Thank you!
2017 Lottery Season

We thank you for sharing this link with friends,
neighbors, colleagues and others interested in Mill Falls!

MFCS Parents/Guardians please note: Children currently enrolled at Mill Falls DO NOT participate in the Lottery. Once enrolled at school, they stay with us and move along from grade to grade. Next Friday, we will be sending you the 'Intent to Continue' form so that you can tell us your plans for your children in the 2017/18 school year.
From the Art Department
A note from Ms. Carla...
In all grades we have continued to explore different media, subject matter and artists. Before vacation we finished up paper weaving. Older students took this technique one step further by changing the shape of their weaving and trying different ideas!  I am keeping these pieces for the upcoming spring art show (more info to come as it gets closer!)

We have just completed a winter landscape collage using papers we created using different painting techniques. Soon we will be starting printmaking and learning about the Pop Artist Andy Warhol!

Upper Elementary students were able to create unique masks for the upcoming Fire and Ice Dance. They really had fun and used their imagination and each mask is so different!

Thank you for everyone who has sent in egg cartons and paper towel rolls! We do have enough at this point. We will soon be using them in a 3D project!

February Fun & Winter Health

First Lego League Celebration: On February 8th, the FLL Team will be celebrating their 2016 Season at Sky Zone - Manchester's indoor trampoline park - and they invite MFCS Families to join the celebration on that Early Release Day. You may purchase your tickets now while supplies last at the Mill Falls Front Desk!
Finding Our Muse

Last night members of our staff spent the evening together at MUSE, a paint bar located in downtown Manchester.

There they were instructed step-by-step in the creation of their own artistic masterpieces!

Fun was had by all!
