From Night to Morning...
We began the week still celebrating the success of our 2nd Annual Winter Dance! The students had a blast last Friday night, snacking, socializing and dancing the night away. Congrats to the Dance Committee and a huge thank you to the staff and parents who helped make the evening so very special for our kiddos!

We closed out the week today with a series of student presentations at our Morning Meeting. One of our 3rd grade reading groups shared a story they wrote; other 3rd graders performed a song about Harry Potter; and a 5th grade reading group explained Up-cycling which they have been reading about and shared some projects they created.

And in between there were plenty of lessons and group time, including a focus by our Lower Elementary Students on extreme weather, as seen here:

On the left, is a simulation of a tornado, created with water and a bit of soap. The children added lego pieces to symbolize houses to see them spin in the storm. On the right, students created structures made of marshmallows and toothpicks planted into jello. The students shook the table and observed the 'earthquake-safe' qualities of their structures.

Full Day Kinder Being Considered by the Legislature
Finally, we were able to talk with many of you at pickup on Thursday about an upcoming vote regarding House Bill 1563 which seeks to provide funding for full-day Kindergarten for all NH public schools and districts in the state (currently, only 1/2 day K is funded). It is now expected that the bill will be heard on the floor of the House on February 10th. Please stay tuned for information about how to share your voice in support of this bill!
Food Drive: 100 Items by Our 100th Day
February's community focus is our 4th Annual Food Drive. All items collected will be brought to our Service Learning Partner and neighbor - The NH Food Bank.

To jump-start the Drive, we ask you to join in the challenge of helping us collect 100 items by our 100th Day of the 2015/16 School Year. If there are no weather days between now and then, the 100th Day will be Monday, February 8th. Please click here to see the flyer that went home in backpacks today!
Intent Forms: We Need to Hear from You!
We are still missing a number of Intent to Continue Forms, which were due today!!!

If you have not yet returned your form, PLEASE do so on Monday

It is critical that we hear from all families (excluding our current 6th graders), so that we can plan appropriately for the next school year.

If you have any questions about your child's enrollment for next year, please call or email Laura Wrubleski .
